(Minghui.org) A few years ago, I was arrested for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who began the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. I was detained for 15 days, during which I explained to the chief of the detention center why the persecution was wrong.
He smiled and told me his story. He was in charge of forcing detained Falun Gong practitioners to give up their faith in 2009, and was later was diagnosed with stomach perforation. After a year of treatment, it got so bad that he lost his job, as he physically couldn’t perform his duty. In the end, the hospital gave up treating him and sent him home.
According to him, he had lost all hope and lived day after day slowly suffering and dying.
One day, he remembered how a practitioner once told him that Falun Dafa has miraculous healing power. Something flashed through his mind, and he had hope. He snuck some Falun Dafa literature he confiscated home and read it carefully. A few months later, his unbearable illness had disappeared.
It was at that moment when he truly came to believe everything that Falun Dafa practitioners had told him: Master was there to offer salvation and Dafa was a righteous practice. He realized that he was once punished for the bad things he did to practitioners. Now that he had awakened from the lies told by the CCP, he was blessed by Dafa and regained his health.
“I am back to work again. But I know that I must be a good person and help those in need,” he said.
And that was what he did. When he saw me meditate, instead of stopping me, he told others to meditate with me because it was good for them. Everyone talked about how nice he was. He allowed everyone to use hot water and would let anyone who needed to call home use his personal cell phone. Everyone knew that he became a kind person because of his experience with Falun Dafa.
The day I was released, he was on duty. He said to me, “Practice what you believe in after you get home and be careful.” I was so happy that he was able to be saved. I thank Master for his offering salvation to all beings.
