Additional Persecution News from China – April 1, 2018 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested, at least 11 practitioners were sent to detention centers, and 4 were sentenced to prison.

1. [Tianjin] Ms. Feng Xiumin Detained

Ms. Feng Xiumin was arrested at home by several officers from the Dongxing Police Station, Hedong District, on March 17, 2018. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated personal belongings. She was released from a detention center on March 22. Her personal belongings were returned.

Ms. Feng was previously arrested by officers from the Dongxing Police Station on July 7, 2017. She was detained for 33 days.

2. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Chen Xueyan, Ms. He Lijuan, and Ms. Lin Cuixia were arrested while telling people about Falun Gong near Xinhui Road and Xikang Road in the Putuo District on the morning of March 31, 2018.

3. [Luodian County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Cui Hong and Ms. Xu Fang Arrested

Ms. Cui Hong, 48, and Ms. Xu Fang, about 40, were arrested by officers from the Longping Town Police Station in the early morning hours of March 30, 2018. The officers confiscated their computers and printers.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Yuefeng Detained

Ms. Zhao Yuefeng from Jingyue District was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Yutan Police Station on March 5, 2018. She is being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.

5. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liu Shufang Detained

Ms. Liu Shufang was arrested while she was taking her sister's child to school on the afternoon of March 24, 2018. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a notebook computer and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Liu is being held in the Datong Detention Center.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shao Dawei and Wife Ms. Zhang Shuqing Taken Into Custody

Mr. Shao Dawei, his wife Ms. Zhang Shuqing, and two elderly practitioners, Pan and Zuo, from Kangping County, were arrested by officers from the Liangjiazi Township Police Station on March 31, 2018. The two elderly practitioners have returned home. Mr. Shao and his wife Ms. Zhang remain in custody at the police station.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Fengchun Detained

Mr. Liu Fengchun was arrested at home by officers from the West Coast New Area Police Station on the morning of March 20, 2018. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated all his Falun Dafa books, printed materials, computer, and printer. Mr. Liu's wife was arrested the following afternoon. She was interrogated and brought back home that evening. Mr. Liu was taken to the Jiaonan Detention Center on the afternoon of March 25.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Ding Zhongbin and Wife Ms. Yi Wenjun Detained

Mr. Ding Zhoubin and his wife Ms. Yi Wenjun were arrested at home by officers from the Caotang Police Station on February 12, 2018. Mr. Ding was released after 37 days of detention. Ms. Yi Wenjun was officially placed under arrest.

9. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Shigang Detained

Mr. Zhao Shigang from Liuhe Town was arrested by officers from the Dahenan Police Station on the evening of February 11, 2018. He was taken to the Dengta City Domestic Security Division. He was held in the Dengta City Police Department's Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Ying and Mr. Wang Shouguang from Laishan District were arrested by officers from the Yingzhou Avenue Police Station while talking to people about Falun Gong on the evening of March 30, 2018.

11. [Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Juhua Placed Under Criminal Detention

Ms. Yin Juhua was arrested by local Domestic Security officers while she talked to people about Falun Gong on March 25, 2018. She was held in criminal detention for 15 days.

12. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Qiao Cuiping, Ms. Han Xiujuan, and Ms. Chen Hairong were each given a three-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan on March 17, 2017, for telling people about Falun Gong. They appealed. Their prison terms were reduced to two years and six months but still each fined 5,000 yuan. They were taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison on March 15, 2018.

It was reported, Ms. Liu Yumei was arrested on May 13, 2017. She was given a one-year-and-six-month prison term. She was taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison before end of the year.
