(Minghui.org) Mr. Cui Lu from Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, was denied family visits by officials in Jidong Prison for nearly a year in 2017. The prison officials claimed that it was because he shouted "Falun Dafa is good" in prison.

When Mr. Cui Lu's wife was finally allowed to see him on January 11, 2018, they were only given three minutes to talk.

His wife noticed that he was very weak and had trouble lifting his hands. He said one of his teeth was knocked out in a beating and that he suffered from edema.

Mr. Cui, in his 40s, worked in the Zhuolu County government. He was arrested on March 19, 2009, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong and sentenced to nine years in prison.

The prison guards brutally force-fed him when he went on a hunger strike to protest the torture and abuse inflicted upon him in 2010.

Beginning in May 2016, the prison began another round of efforts to “transform” Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Cui was shocked with electric batons, put in handcuffs and shackles, and deprived of sleep.

His wife's requests to visit him were denied multiple times over the past year. His mother took a fall in July 2017 and passed away months later on October 4 (the Mid-Autumn Festival Day). He did not know that his mother had died until his wife was finally allowed to see him on January 11, 2018.

Mr. Cui has been held in Jidong Prison. His term ends on May 7, 2018.
