(Minghui.org) Thinking back over my 20 years of Falun Dafa cultivation practice, there hasn't been anything extraordinary. I have simply been holding onto sincerity and kindness in my day-to-day life because I practice Falun Dafa.
I am a math teacher at a high school. I began cultivating in 1997. I have since been very diligent at work, and have not cared about which grade or class I was assigned to teach. I just did my very best.
Master Li Hongzhi said:
“They work very diligently and will do any assignment the boss gives.” (Zhuan Falun, Lecture Four)
I often had to go across the entire soccer field to get to my next class because I taught classes to different grades, and this happened quite frequently. Even when I taught only one grade, I ended up teaching subjects in classrooms that were far apart from each other. This added a lot more preparation effort to my workload.
Another time, I was just about to take a vacation right after graduation, but then I was suddenly assigned a new task by the school management. I have never turned down management for anything they asked of me. I know that only by following what Master Li teaches, to think of others first, can one be a true practitioner.
While some teachers asked to teach only morning classes, others did not want to teach the last morning class, and some asked for their class schedules to be connected. I often had to take whatever other teachers didn't want. So my classes were either not connected, or they were the last ones in the morning. Additionally, my evening class was typically held on Friday night, after the others had already started enjoying the weekend.
Regardless, I never asked my manager to switch my classes with others for my own convenience. Master told us to think of others first and be good people wherever we are.
For over the past two decades, I never asked for any kind of leave, and I arrived at work on time every day. And because I abide by the rules, I was assigned to take other teachers’ classes when they were absent.
I recall that one year we were discussing the “excellent teacher” award. Everyone was fighting for it and wanted to be awarded with this title, except for me. However, the director said, “This year's excellent teacher must be given to her [me]. We all know how hard she has worked.”
I told her that I didn't care about it, and that she could give it to someone else. The director said, “No, we can't. We know you don't care about it, but still, you truly deserve it!”
I always shared my knowledge with other teachers. One time, a few of my coworkers were meeting to discuss something they couldn't figure out. In the end, one of them suggested that they reach out to me.
As soon as she showed me their question, I quickly resolved it. It wasn't because I was brighter than they were, but rather that Master had given me wisdom since I began learning Dafa. They continued coming to me whenever they ran into problems.
Many of my coworkers have come to learn the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution. One day, a teacher came to find me. She seemed very nervous and said to me, “The director asked me to tell you to find a place to hide. Two strangers came looking for you. Could it be something to do with your belief?”
I thanked her. But I had no idea why they came to look for me. I was not afraid. So I went to meet with them. They were personnel from a bank, wanting to confirm a transaction that my husband had put through in my name.
Though it was a false alarm, I still truly appreciated that my colleagues were trying to protect me. I felt happy for their righteous actions after learning the truth. Consequently, they have chosen bright futures for themselves.
The students I taught also learned the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution from me, and many of them showed their support. For example, when they were tired, they came to ask me to tell them something more about Dafa. Because of their positive attitudes, some of them received good fortune regarding their college entrance exams.
For example, one student normally scored only 40-50 out of 100 in math. Then during the exam, he firmly believed that reciting, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” would help him. He scored an 80 on the final exam!
He said to me, “When I wasn't sure which answer to select on some of the questions, I kept reciting the two phrases before I made my final choice. And I was right on all of the questions I had doubt about. For that, I truly appreciate Dafa!”
I feel very fortunate to have obtained Dafa and come to enlighten to the truth during my lifetime. This is the reason I am full of gratitude and happiness. I truly hope people can understand the truth about Dafa and be blessed.
