(Minghui.org) I am 81 years old and have been practicing Falun Dafa for 21 years.
I've often met people who want to learn more about Falun Dafa and I have lent about 40 Zhuan Falun books out to different people. Every single one of them wanted to keep the book.
A Senior Citizen Has a Change of Heart
On my way home after distributing truth-clarifying materials about Falun Dafa, I noticed a well-dressed older woman who looked sad. I felt sorry for her and asked her why she looked so unhappy.
She told me that her husband had passed away a few months ago. I told her how I had lost my husband a few years ago and that it takes time to ease the pain in one's heart.
“Your time is not up yet,” I said, “so you have to bear the sorrow. You must forget and be with your children and grandchildren.” She smiled and asked if I could visit her to chat some more, so I agreed.
At her home we talked about Falun Dafa. She said that she didn't like the practice, and I asked her to tell me why.
The lady told me that she lived with her son in Canada for nearly a year. She often saw practitioners protesting against the human rights abuses that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) commits against Dafa practitioners. She believed that this was humiliating for Chinese people.
I took this opportunity to tell her about the self-immolation hoax on Tiananmen Square, the imprisonment, torture, and the organ harvesting from living practitioners. She finally understood the horrors of the ongoing persecution and why practitioners protest against it.
After listening to my explanation, this lady adopted a much more positive attitude about Falun Dafa. In fact, she even decided that she wanted to practice and live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I suggested that she read Zhuan Falun and showed her the exercises.
Since I did not have a printed copy of Zhuan Falun, I gave her a handwritten copy. I also gave her a DVD that contains the exercise instructions, and helped her learn the exercises.
I eventually found a printed copy of Zhuan Falun, but she wanted to keep the handwritten copy. She said that it was not easy to come by a printed copy, and she did not mind having a handwritten version.
