Additional Persecution News from China – January 24, 2018 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 60 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 4 were illegally arrested.

8. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Shaoyong Tried
9. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Zhang Xiulian Sentenced to Prison

1. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Sentences of Ms. Sui Shuyun and Ms. Liu Guiqin Upheld

Ms. Sui Shuyun was sentenced to a one-year prison term, while Ms. Liu Guiqin was sentenced to an eight-month prison term. They appealed to the Tieling City Intermediate Court, which upheld their original sentences without a trial.

2. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Sun Fengrong, Ms. Cong Yu'e, and Ms. Cai Shuwen were arrested by officers from the Houyao Police Station on January 22, 2018, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Tieling City Detention Center.

3. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioner's Cases Sent to the Procuratorate

Ms. Yin Lanying, Ms. Yang Linying, and Mr. Huang Yuanqiao were arrested on October 9, 2017. Their cases were sent to the Hecheng District Procuratorate by the Domestic Security Division on January 11, 2018.

4. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Shuangmu Tried

Ms. Wang Shuangmu was arrested on October 3, 2017, for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party. She was taken to the Ganyu District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang was tried in the Ganyu Court on January 25, 2018.

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Yao Rongxuan Tried

Mr. Yao Rongxuan was arrested on April 6, 2017, and taken to the Yongchuan District Detention Center. He was tried by the Yongchuan Court on January 23, 2018.

6. [Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Mr. Chen Zhibo Imprisoned

Mr. Chen Zhibo was arrested on February 28, 2017. He was taken to the Liwan District Detention Center, and later sentenced to an 18-month prison term.

Mr. Chen was taken to Beijiang Prison in Shaoguan in December 2017.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Shujuan Arrested

Ms. Yu Shujuan was arrested on January 23, 2018, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Facheng Town Police Station.

Ms. Yu was forced to have her fingerprints taken and blood drawn in the police station. She was released that afternoon.

8. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Shaoyong Tried

Mr. Huang Shaoyong was arrested on July 12, 2017, and taken to the Jieyang City Detention Center. He will be tried on February 6, 2018.

9. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Zhang Xiulian Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Xiulian was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Chengdong District Court on November 27, 2017. She was taken to the Xining City Detention Center.
