(Minghui.org) Brazil's northeast coast has the second largest population in that country, a long history, and a diverse culture. To clarify the truth about Dafa to the Chinese people in the region, a Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) practitioner traveled to several cities in November 2018.
Along the route, the practitioner met many Chinese, with the majority accepting the basic facts of Falun Dafa, and agreeing to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.
Joao Pessoa City
Learning the Truth about Dafa
Established in 1585, Joao Pessoa is the capital of the Paraiba State. The Chinese population mostly resides around Lake Lagoa, located in the center of the city.
A young Chinese store owner listened to the basic facts about Falun Dafa. He said that he did not listen to the propaganda against Falun Dafa while in school in China. Besides, he was worried about the future of China, given that the officials are very corrupt.
The practitioner told him that the origin of the corruption is the communist regime. It refuses to accept righteous beliefs and has brainwashed the Chinese people. The Party demands that the people do not believe that good deeds are rewarded, while bad deeds will be punished. When the moral standard of a society collapses, it is more difficult to achieve a harmonious life.
The young man agreed and liked the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which are followed by Falun Dafa practitioners.
“I have not heard these principles in school,” he said. “If everyone becomes a good person, China can be saved.”
The practitioner suggested that he read Zhuan Falun, which can be found online. That book will help him attain wisdom and teach him to be a good person.
He quit the Chinese Youth League, an organization under the CCP, and thanked the practitioner.
Before parting, he said, “Talking to you made my day. I feel happier now. Please come back often.”
In another store, the middle-aged Chinese owner said he liked the principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” and agreed to quit the Chinese Young Pioneers, a youth organization controlled by the CCP.
Setting Up Displays and Demonstrating the Dafa Exercises
The coastal drive in the city is only open to pedestrians from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Many people go there to exercise in the morning.
One morning, the practitioner set up introductory Dafa displays and demonstrated the exercises. Maria was one of the many passersby who wanted to learn the exercises.
After learning the first set of exercises, she noticed some positive changes. “My arm often felt pain and the muscle hardened. Now I feel more relaxed. Can you come back to teach again in the evening?” She asked.
She returned in the evening with her younger brother, sister-in-law and sister. Some more passersby joined the session and learned the four sets of exercises. Maria's brother also took a video footage on his phone so they could review the movements later.
Maria was amazed at the healing power of Falun Dafa, and shared that she felt much better in mind and body. The family plans to keep practicing the exercises in the future.

Recife City
Recife is the capital of the Pernambuco State, as well as a major harbor in northeast Brazil. Many Chinese stores are along the Boa Vista Avenue and on the island Santo Antonio.
The practitioner greeted a young Chinese store owner who was standing outside his shop, and asked permission to talk about Falun Dafa. He said yes. But after a while, he became worried and said, “Talking about this subject is illegal. Men from the Chinese embassy will come to arrest you.”
The practitioner smiled and said, “Young man, no worries. There is law in every country. In Brazil, the constitution protects people's freedom of speech and freedom of belief. Men from the Chinese Embassy must obey the law, too.”
The practitioner then said that the Chinese constitution also gave people freedom of belief and freedom of speech, but Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, violated existing laws by persecuting Falun Gong out of jealousy.
When it comes to the self-immolation incident at Tiananmen Square, which was staged by the regime to incite hatred against Falun Dafa, the practitioner asked, “Have you ever seen any policemen patrolling Tiananmen Square carrying a fire extinguisher on their backs? How could it not be staged?”
The young man relaxed but he couldn't believe that there were divine beings like a Buddha and a god. In the end, the young man quit the Communist Party.
A man working in a Chinese fast food restaurant said his family came from Guangdong Province, and people in that area held a belief in Buddhas.
“I believe what goes around comes around,” he said. “It is wrong that the CCP persecutes good people who hold a belief. I believe the truth will reveal itself soon.” He agreed to quit the Chinese Young Pioneers.

Salvador City
Salvador is the capital of the Bahia State, an important harbor, as well as Brazil's capital for 200 years.
Most of the Chinese stores are located along Avenue Sete de Setembro and two parallel streets. The owner of a small restaurant is a young woman who liked the Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She quit the Chinese Young Pioneers.
Seeing that the practitioner was perspiring, she fetched a bottle of water and said, “It is hot today, so please sit down and drink some water.”

The owner of a garment store was sitting with a painful expression. She said, “I heard of Falun Dafa in China but didn't pay much attention. I only heard it was banned by the Chinese government.”
The practitioner clarified the truth to her and talked about the power of Dafa experienced by many people.
So, she asked, “How do I learn the Falun Dafa exercises? Look at me, all my joints are hurting.” She showed the practitioner her red and swollen finger joints.
“Rheumatism is very difficult to cure,” said the practitioner. “But, many people who have practiced the exercises diligently and have read the Dafa books, have recovered from their serious ailments. Why don't you give it a try.”
The lady's expression turned brighter. She said, “This is really good news. I will read the book online. I am only 40 years old but I can't work anymore (because of rheumatism). If I recover, I will let more people know about Falun Dafa.”
The practitioner said, “That is a good idea. Falun Dafa is not just for recovering from ailments, but it raises people's morals so that they become a good person.”
The lady said that being a good person was one of her life's hope, and agreed to quit the Chinese Young Pioneers.
