Additional Persecution News from China – September 29, 2018 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 2 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Zhaoheng and Ms. Liu Shuyan Detained

Ms. Song Zhaoheng, 76, and Ms. Liu Shuyan were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division for talking to people about Falun Gong on August 27, 2018. They were taken to a detention center. Their cases were turned over to the Yushu City Court.

2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zheng Lijun Sentenced to Prison Term

Mr. Zheng Lijun was arrested in May 2016. He was released on medical parole on July 6, 2018. He was later sentenced to a one-year-and-six-month prison term. He has been taken to a prison.

3. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Guo Hongwei and Ms. Wu Jinyan Detained

Mr. Guo Hongwei, around 50 years old, and Ms. Wu Jinyan, 63, from Qinghemen District, were arrested by Han Jingshan, a deputy director from the Zhizhu Township Police Department, and other officers for talking to people about Falun Gong in Fuxin City on September 6, 2018. Mr. Guo was held in the Xindi Detention Center for 10 days. Ms. Wu was held in the Xinde Lockup Center for 10 days.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Liaonan Prison

Mr. Zhang Renguang, Mr. Wang Shangjie, and Mr. Han Jianhai, from Shahekou District, were recently sentenced to prison. They were taken to the New Inmates Ward, Liaonan Prison on September 6, 2018.

5. [Wuqiang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Huanyun Taken to Shijiazhuang Prison

Ms. Li Huanyun, from Lidezhuang Village, Jieguan Town, was sentenced to a three-and-a-half prison term on September 9, 2018. She was taken to Shijiazhuang Prison.

6. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Yuejin Arrested

Ms. Qu Yuejin, from Qijia Village, Dongjiang Town, was arrested by officers from the Dongjiang Town Police Station on the morning of September 26, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

7. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wei Jiuxiang Detained

Mr. Wei Jiuxiang was arrested and taken to a detention center by officers from the Duozhuang Town Police Station on the morning of September 28, 2018.

8. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Shuying Taken to Prison

Ms. Ma Shuying was arrested by officers from the Ligezhuang Town Police Station on November 14, 2017. She was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan by the Jiaozhou City Court. She was taken to the Jinan Women's Prison in July 2018.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Chen Kerong Being Held in Beibei Prison

Ms. Chen Kerong, from the Dashiba area, Jiangbei District, was monitored, followed, and arrested by the Huixing Police Station on August 27, 2017. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, and Falun Gong informational materials. Ms. Chen was sentenced to a one-year-and-nine-month prison term on August 14, 2018. She is being held in the Beibei Prison.

10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Mingshu Unconscious at Police Hospital

Mr. Wu Mingshu, from the Shidong Residential Community, Dongchan District, was arrested at home by plainclothes officers on August 28, 2018. He was taken to the Dongchan Police Station, where he was tortured. He suffered from intracerebral hemorrhage, and remained unconscious. He is in a police hospital.
