(Minghui.org) Four residents of Xiping County were issued formal arrest warrants two months after they were taken into custody.

Mr. Liu Yingchun, Mr. Yan Xinliang, Mr. Lu Xueli, and Mr. Liu Jingmin were seized on May 19, 2017, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Mr. Lu was later released on bail after he went on a hunger strike. The other three men remain at Linying County Detention Center.

The local procuratorate issued formal arrest warrants for all four men on July 27. They now face indictment for their faith.

Mr. Liu Yingchun’s wife, Ms. Kong Yujie, was also arrested at the same time. Though she was soon released, she had to shut down their family business to focus on their two boys, ages 1 and 4.

This is not the first time that Mr. Liu Yingchun has been targeted for his faith. He used to have frequent seizures, but his symptoms went away after he began to practice Falun Gong. As such, he remained steadfast in practicing Falun Gong despite the ongoing persecution.

He was sent to Xuchang Labor Camp in 2004, where the guards subjected him to constant beatings and verbal abuse.

He was riding his bike one day in 2009 when a man appeared unexpectedly and knocked him down. A team of agents then came up to handcuff him, claiming to be police. Shortly after he was taken to the local police department, he had a relapse of his seizure disorder and began foaming at the mouth. He lay unconscious on the floor for quite some time, but officers stopped anyone who tried to help him.
