Additional Persecution News from China – March 28, 2017 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Liu Guiqing Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Guiqing was arrested in January 2016. She was held in the Zhuanyaowan Detention Center and has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

2. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bi Xiushu Sentenced to a Year and 10 Months in Prison

Ms. Bi Xiushu was sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison in the Zhifu District Court on March 23, 2017. She asked to appeal her case at the time her sentence was handed down.

3. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Xiaolin Given a One-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. He Xiaolin was sentenced to one and a half years in prison on March 9, 2017.

4. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Shulian Detained

Ms. Li Shulian was arrested by officers from the Laixi City Police Department's 610 Office. She is being held in the Pudong Detention Center in Jimo City.

5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tan Fengjiang Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Mr. Tan Fengjiang was tried at the end of October 2016 in the Wuying District Court. He was given a seven-year prison term. Mr. Tan appealed to the Yichun City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original sentence without a hearing. Mr. Tan was taken to Hulan Prison, Harbin City, at the end of February 2017.

6. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Yurong and Mr. Zheng Zhonghua Arrested

Ms. Han Yurong and Mr. Zhong Zhonghua from Tumenzi Town were arrested and taken to the Tumenzi Police Station by plainclothes officers on March 26, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Tumenzi farmers market. They were later taken to the Qinglong County Police Department.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Xiuqin Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiuqin from the Haidian District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on March 25, 2017. She was arrested and is now in the Haidian District Detention Center.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Shuxia Arrested

Ms. Liu Shuxia from Liudu Village, Shidu Town, the Fangshan District, was arrested by three officers from the Fangshan Police Department on the morning of March 17, 2017.

9. [Changji City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Yang Yingjie Detained

Ms. Yang Yingjie was reported for distributing Falun Gong materials in Urumqi City on March 26, 2017. She was arrested by officers from the Yinchuanlu Police Station. She is currently in a detention center.

10. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Mr. Du Shaoqin, Mr. Wang Baohe, Mr. Li Zengying, Ms. Zhao Qiaoju, and Ms. Zhao Qiaoqi were arrested by Liangtang Town Police Station officers in late March 2017 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. They were detained for five days.

11. [Guangshan County, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Jian Xuefu, Mr. He Yuanlang, Mr. Zeng Zhaobin, and Mr. Li Jiazhi were arrested by Zishui Police Station officers on the afternoon of March 21, 2017. Their homes were ransacked.

12. [Zouping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiurong and Mr. Zhao Hongwei Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiurong and Mr. Zhao Hongwei from Dongjing Village were arrested by officers from the Huangshan Police Station on March 16, 2017. Ms. Liu was released. Mr. Zho was taken to the Zouping County Detention Center.

13. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Xueqin and Mr. Guo Xiangrong Detained

Ms. Yu Xueqin and Mr. Guo Xiangrong were arrested on March 25, 2017. They are being held in the Gongzhuling City Detention Center.

14. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Yulin Tortured in Prison

Mr. Gao Yulin from the Daoli District was tortured in Hulan Prison. His blood pressure spiked to 250. He also suffered from heart disease. The prison authorities denied his family's application for medical parole. He is in now in the Hulan Prison Hospital.
