(Minghui.org) Mr. Wu Zhanting, a Falun Gong practitioner in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, was arrested on November 29, 2017 while distributing Falun Gong related materials in a local market.

It was reported that police in Chaoyang city have been using surveillance cameras to monitor Falun Gong practitioners who distribute materials to the public to raise awareness about the persecution.

Prior to Mr. Wu, three Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested after the police spotted them on camera distributing materials.

This was the third time that Mr. Wu has been arrested this year for practicing Falun Gong.

The first arrest was carried out by police from Xiangyang Police Station during the “Knocking on the Door” campaign, in which police across the country systematically arrested and harassed Falun Gong practitioners prior to the communist regime's 19th National Congress. After Mr. Wu was released after he failed the physical examination, he began to experience memory loss.

Not long after that, the police harassed him at home again on October 24, 2017. They confiscated his Falun Gong book, took him to the police station and forced him to press his fingerprints on a document.

According to Mr. Wu's family, he had suffered a stroke as a result of brutal torture during a four-year term in 2002 at Nanshan Prison for practicing Falun Gong. He never fully recovered from the stroke, and the repeated harassment this year only made his health even worse.

Despite his worrisome health situation, the detention center still accepted him. When his family went to the police station to inquire about the status of his case, they were told that his case had already been submitted to the court.
