(Minghui.org) Seven residents in Qinhuangdao City, including a married couple, were arrested on June 9, 2017, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. They were issued formal arrest warrants on July 15 and are now awaiting indictments for their faith.

Fu Yong, an officer from Criminal Investigation Section of Qinhuangdao City Public Security, and about a dozen others broke into Jiahe Agency at around 5 p.m. on June 9 and arrested the business’ owners, Mr. Zuo Hongtao and his wife Ms. Cui Qiurong.

The police also arrested four other Falun Gong practitioners, including Mr. Wu Wenzhang, Mr. Yang Xiaoyong, Ms. Yuan Sujing, and Ms. Li Guoai, who were visiting the couple at the time.

The police ransacked Mr. Zuo’s company and confiscated 100,000 yuan in cash that was used for business operations, an electric motorcycle, and office supplies.

They also arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Changfu and ransacked his home.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. the same evening, officers from Lunan Police Station in the Shanhaiguan District took  Mr. Zuo's keys and opened his home. They ransacked it for about three hours and confiscated his personal belongings. They never provided a list of the confiscated things from his home or office. Several days later, the local news reported that the money confiscated from Mr. Zuo’s company included banknotes that had messages about Falun Gong printed on them, but that was not true.

On June 9, Ms. Yuan's home was ransacked and her new electric motorcycle confiscated.

That same day, police officers from local domestic security division took possession of Ms. Li Guoai's car that she'd borrowed from her friend. Her garments inside the car were confiscated.

On June 12, Fu Yong and other officers from the Criminal Investigation Section went to Ms. Li's home. They pried open the door and ransacked it when no one was at home.

On July 15, Chen Tiezhong, head of the Criminal Investigation Section, Shanhaiguan District Procuratorate, approved the arrests of Mr. Zuo, his wife Ms. Cui, and other practitioners mentioned above.
