Additional Persecution News from China – July 24, 2016 (29 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 51 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province] Eight Practitioners Remain in Custody

About 50 practitioners were arrested at Bailianhu Park in Hudong New Area by officers from the county police department on the morning of April 21, 2016.

The following remain in custody: Ms. Ge Ling, Ms. Fu Shujiao, Ms. Bao Chengyu, Ms. Zhu Zhiying, Ms. Li Zhengcai, Ms. Hao Huilan, Mr. Zhu Guoxing, and Mr. Wei.

2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Lang from Qidao Street was arrested at home on July 22, 2016, and her home was ransacked. She has returned home. Her husband, Mr. Yan Mingyu, is being held at Xinfu Police Department on Liudao Street.

Mr. Song Shuwen and Mr. Dong Weirong from Dongzhou District were arrested on July 1, 2016.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Tao Liyun Detained

Ms. Tao Liyun from Pudong New Area was arrested at home on July 19, 2016, and her home was ransacked. She is being held at Zhangjiang Detention Center in Pudong New Area.

4. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Sun Dunshan Detained

Mr. Sun Dunshan from Feng County was arrested by officers from Feng County Police Department on May 13, 2016. He is being held in Feng County Detention Center.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zou Wei, Mr. Wang Mingli, Mr. Wang Libo, and Mr. Chen Wei from Sangang Township in Nong'an County were arrested on July 21, 2016. All but Mr. Chen were held in the Nong'an County Detention Center. Mr. Chen's whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Qiang Mengsheng and Mr. Wang Guaiyan Detained

Mr. Qiang Mengsheng is being held in Weibin Detention Center. Mr. Wang Guaiyan is being held in Weibin No. 2 Detention Center.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Mingzhou and Ms. Yin Aimei Arrested

Mr. Zhang Mingzhou and Ms. Yin Aimei from Wenjia Township in Shouguang City were arrested by Wenjia Township government officials and justice agency personnel on the morning of July 22, 2016. The officers confiscated over 30 Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and a bank card. Both practitioners returned home that day.

8. [Xianning City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Qin Detained

Ms. Wang Qin from Tingsiqiao Town in Xian'an District was arrested by officers from Tingsiqiao Town Police Station on the morning of July 22, 2016. She is being held in Xian'an District Detention Center.

9. [Liuhe County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Jing and Mr. Liu Changchun Detained

Ms. Yang Jing and Mr. Liu Changchun were arrested by officers from Liuhe County Domestic Security Division on July 15, 2016. They are being held in Tonghua City Detention Center. Their families were not allowed to visit them.

10. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chi Shuhua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chi Shuhua was recently sentenced to four years in prison.

11. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Xingwei Detained

Mr. Song Xingwei was arrested by officers from Cangzhou City Development Zone Police Department on July 14, 2016. He was held in Cangzhou City Detention Center. Then he was transferred to Shanghai on July 18, 2016.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Wubin, Mr. Sun Ruqing (both from Wuhan City), Ms. Zhong (and her niece), Mr. Feng Zhen, Ms. Shi Yingxia, Mr. Wang Jijun, and Ms. Yang (remainder are from Xishui County) were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Qingshan District Police Department on July 19, 2016.

The practitioners' homes were ransacked.

13. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Ouyang Meixiang and Mr. Guo Yuncheng Detained

Ms. Ouyang Meixiang, in her 60s, and Mr. Guo Yuncheng, in his 70s, were arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials by officers from Efeng Township Police Station on the afternoon of July 17, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in Yichun City Detention Center.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Jingchun Detained

Ms. Zhou Jingchun from Laishui County was arrested by officers from Laishui County Police Department and Yongyang Town Police Station on the afternoon on July 15, 2016. The officers confiscated a printer, Falun Gong books, and printed materials. She is being held in Laishui County Detention Center.

15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shi Guilan Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Shi Guilan from Linghe Town in Anqiu City was arrested by officers from Linghe Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 21, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in Liujiayao Brainwashing Center.

16. [Beijing] Ms. Mao Fenglan Arrested

Ms. Mao Fenglan, 61, from Zhouzhuangjiayuan Residential Community in the Chaoyang District was arrested on July 22, 2016. The police confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, and paper currency with Falun Gong information printed on them.

17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Guangyuan Taken Into Custody

Mr. Chen Guangyuan was arrested on July 19, 2016. He is being held in Ganghua Police Station.

18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Jingqiu Arrested

Ms. Yan Jingqiu was followed when she put up Falun Gong informational display boards, and she was arrested at home by officers from Badahu Police Station on July 20, 2016.

19. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yin Xianping Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yin Xianping from Duchang County was secretly sentenced to three years in prison in mid-July 2016. Then Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict.

20. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Twelve Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Wei and four other practitioners were arrested by officers from Zhoukou City Police Department on the afternoon of July 21, 2016.

Ms. Zhang Dongdong, in her 40s, and Mr. Qiao Zhenhua, in his 40s, were arrested by officers from Henan Province Public Security Ministry, Zhoukou City Police Department, and Taihao Road Police Station in Chuanhui District. They confiscated several printers and supplies from the practitioners.

At the same time Ms. Kong Aiping and four other practitioners were also arrested. They are being held in Zhoukou Detention Center.

21. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhou Yurong and Ms. Guo Xiaolan Detained

Ms. Zhou Yurong and Ms. Guo Xiaolan were arrested by local police when they spoke to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 1, 2016. They were taken to Jiyuan City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

22. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Hongkai and Ms. Zhao Xiuying Arrested

Mr. Zhang Hongkai and Ms. Zhao Xiuying were arrested by officers from Huanggu Police Department and Hushitai Police Station on June 28, 2016.

23. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yuxiang Sentenced to Prison

Zichuan District Court held a trial against Ms. Wang Yuxiang on the morning of March 16, 2016. In mid-June 2016, the court notified Ms. Wang that she was sentenced to three years in prison. She has appealed to Zibo City Intermediate Court.

24. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xiao Lianhong, from Jinjujiayuan Residential Community, Dongba Township, in Chaoyang District, was arrested at home by officers from Dongba Township Police Station on July 21, 2016. Ms. Chen Rulian and Ms. Su Wei were also arrested with her.

25. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Rui Arrested

Ms. Liu Rui was arrested by officers from Rizhao Development Zone Police Department on July 22, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

26. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Mengxiang and Ms. Wang Shulian Detained

Ms. Li Mengxiang, 58, and Ms. Wang Shulian, 50, from Fuxing Village, Fuzihe Town, Macheng City, were arrested in Shahe Village by officers from Xugu Town Police Station on the evening of July 21, 2016. Both were taken to Erzigou Detention Center.

27. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Zhongfang and Ms. Ding Detained

Ms. Li Zhongfang, 67, and Ms. Ding from Jinjiao District were arrested by officers from Jinjiao District Police Station on July 19, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to Huludao City Detention Center.

28. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhong Changkui and Niece Detained

Mr. Zhong Changkui, while working odd jobs in Wuhan City, and his niece were arrested on July 19, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to Xishi County No. 2 Detention Center.

29. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Ziqin and Ms. Liu Runlian Taken into Custody

Ms. Wang Ziqin and Ms. Liu Runlian were arrested by officers from Xiaojingyu Police Station in Wanbailin District when they talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of July 22, 2016. Ms. Liu returned home that day. Ms. Wang remains in police custody.
