(Minghui.org) For four generations, my father's side of the family suffered from allergic asthma so severe that nobody lived past 60 years old. My father and his four siblings all died of complications from this condition before reaching the age of 60, with one of my uncles passing away at age 30. It was a deadly pattern that nobody in the family could escape, until me.
I was diagnosed with allergic asthma when I served in the air force. In the following nine years, I was hospitalized seven times and underwent allergy testing three times. I literally reacted to every allergen skin test, so my doctor decided not to go through all 30 tests as planned. He told me, “There's no need to continue—you will probably react to all of them. You are so allergic to things, you might as well just live in a vacuum.”
I had become so weak that my neck looked like it had sunk into my shoulder. I had to wear a facial mask whenever I went outside because the dust in the air made my eyes, nose, and mouth itchy and triggered asthma. I was heavily dependent on medication, which made me lethargic all the time.
I sought treatment in many big cities and visited many well-known doctors and hospitals. I was so desperate at one point that I visited temples and prayed for good health. Nothing worked—I spent a fortune but my condition got worse and worse.
Just when I had lost all hope, a door suddenly opened for me. One day in May 1999, my wife gave me a copy of Zhuan Falun and said, “This is a really good book, and the practice can help improve your health.”
I started reading the book right away and couldn't agree more with the principles. I taught myself the exercises and started my cultivation in Falun Dafa.
I had regained my health in just a few short months, to the point where by July, when the persecution was launched, I had not experienced any symptoms whatsoever even at the peak of pollen season. I had not spent any money on nor taken any medication ever since, and have enjoyed good health for the past 16 years. I have also become a more honest and kind person by living by the principles of Dafa.
The curse that had been running in my family was finally broken. Having witnessed such a miracle and the improvements in my character, my family has been very supportive of my practice, even during the darkest hours of the persecution.
Master and Dafa changed my fate and I will forever be grateful. It is my sincere hope that more people could enjoy the benefits that I have experienced first hand.
