Additional Persecution News from China – April 29, 2016 (25 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 35 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xiufen Subjected to Brainwashing

Ms. Xu Xiufen from Liangxiang Town in the Fangshan District was illegally detained for more than a year. She was sentenced to two years is prison in November 26, 2015, and fined 4,000 yuan. She was transferred from the Fangshan Detention Center to the Tiantanghe Women's Education and Corrective Facility, where she was forced to undergo brainwashing

2. [Jining city, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Guizhi, 57, from Ainali Village, Zhaogudui Township, Liangshan County, was arrested at home at noon on April 25, 2016. Her eldest daughter was also arrested at the same time. The police beat them both. The daughter was released that night. Mr. Yang was taken to the county detention center.

Ms. Qin Yuchen from Zhongtan Village was arrested and taken to the township police station on April 22, 2016. She was released two hours later.

3. [Yuxi City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Yongkun and Ms. Li Qiongmei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Yongkun and Ms. Li Qiongmei from Jiangchuan County were detained for over five months. Each was sentenced to four years in prison in February 2016.

4. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. He Jinlian Arrested

Ms. He Jinlian from Yakeshi City was arrested on the evening of April 26, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

5. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Mr. Guo Sibiao Detained

Mr. Guo Sibiao from Zhongxiang City was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong information materials in Lengshui Town in Zhongxiang City on April 26, 2016. He is held in the Train Station Detention Center.

6. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Ms. Yu Chengying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yu Chengying was arrested at home by officers from the 610 Office and the Tangling Police Station at noon on April 26, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer, a cell phone, a photo of Teacher Li Hongzhi, and Falun Gong books and printed materials. She is now in the Mengcheng Brainwashing Center.

7. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Arrested

Ms. Song from Zhaili Town in the Zichuan District was arrested on April 27, 2016, by officers from the Zhaili Police Station for telling students about Falun Gong.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lian Jing Arrested

Ms. Lian Jing from the Shenbeixin District was arrested on April 26, 2016. She was held in the Xinchengzi Township Police Station.

9. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Jinling Arrested

Ms. Luo Jinling from the Huarong District in Wuhan City was arrested at home by Wuchang police officers on the morning of April 25, 2016. The officers confiscated all her printed materials.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dou Weili Arrested

Ms. Dou Weili was arrested at home by Zhang Yongbo and other officers from Licang District on the morning of April 27, 2016. They confiscated a photo of Teacher Li and Falun Gong books. She was released the same day.

11. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Lin Qing, Mr. Hang Tian, and Mr. Guan Wenhua were arrested by officers from the Siping City Police Department, the Lishu County Police Department, the 610 Office, and the Xiaochengzi Town Police Department on the afternoon of April 25, 2016. Ms. Lin and Mr. Hang were taken home by their families. Mr. Guan was taken to the Lishu County Detention Center.

12. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yuehong Detained

Mr. Liu Yuehong from the Haidian District was arrested recently by officers from the Xingfeng Police Station in the Daxing District. He is held in the Daxing District Detention Center.

13. [Beijing] Ms. Qu Xiuhua Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Qu Xiuhua from the Shijingshan District was arrested by the director of the Jinding Neighborhood Committee, the Communist Party secretary of the neighborhood committee, and a residential police officer with the last name Yang on the morning of April 27, 2016. She was taken to a brainwashing center.

14. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shi Yuehua Arrested

Ms. Shi Yuehua was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Changjianglu Police Station in the Development Zone on the afternoon of April 24, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She returned home the following afternoon.

15. [Beijing] Mr. Li Lanqiang Arrested

Mr. Li Lanqiang from the Fangshan District was arrested by officers from the Fangshan District Police Department and the Gongchenjie Police Station on April 20, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, a printer, a computer, a laminating machine, and supplies.

16. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ding Suhua and five other practitioners from Linying County were arrested at Ms. Ding's home by officers from the Linying County Domestic Security Division and the Police Department on the afternoon of April 26, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, DVDs, printed materials, paper bills with Falun Gong content printed on them, a cell phone, and over 2,000 yuan in cash.

17. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Zhang Yingdong, Mr. Zhang Yuedong, and Mr. Kou Deying from Heishan County were arrested by officers from the Heishan Police Department on February 24, 2016. Mr. Zhang Yingdong and Mr. Kou were taken to the Jinzhou City No. 1 Criminal Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Yuedong was held in the Heishan Detention Center.

18. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tang Guirong Detained

Mr. Tang Guirong from the Hengshan District was arrested by the urban management officers for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the dog market in the Hengshan District on April 24, 2016. He was taken to the Jixi Detention Center from the Hengshan Police Station.

19. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Sen Secretly Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Sen was tried in 2015. He was secretly sentenced to eight months on February 4, 2016. He was taken to the Huai'an City Detention Center.

20. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Meng Xiaojing Taken to Prison

Ms. Meng Xiaojing was taken to the Nanjing Prison on April 15, 2016.

21. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Dong Benlan Arrested

Ms. Dong Benlan from Xiaoyanchang Village, Dachangshan Township, Changhai County, was arrested at home on the morning of April 25, 2016. The police confiscated a photo of Teacher Li, Falun Gong books, and a recorder. She was released the same day.

22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Tang Qian from the Qinyuanju Residential Community in the Wuchang District was arrested on April 25, 2016. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Luo Jinling, Mr. Qin Yongmo, Mr. Li Guohua, Ms. Zhang Hongyuan, Ms. Ma Qiuzhen, and Ms. Yu Xindi were also arrested at the same time.

23. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yonghua Arrested

Mr. Liu Yonghua from the Chaoyang District was followed and arrested by officers from the Sunhe Police Station when she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Sunhe Residential Community at noon on April 28, 2016. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, a computer, and a printer. Mr. Liu is still being held in the Sunhe Police Station.

24. [Zhoukon City, Henan Province] Ms. Cao Guiling and Ms. Wu Muzhen Arrested

Ms. Cao Guiling and Ms. Wu Muzhen from Fuzhuang Village, Fanji Township, Xiangcheng City, were arrested by Fanji Township Police Station officers on April 14, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin.

25. [Shangrao City, Jiangsi Province] Mr. Wang Xing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Xing tried in the Guangfeng District Court on February 23, 2016. Mr. Wang was recently sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. He is on a hunger strike to protest his sentence.
