(Minghui.org) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution.
Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

Numerous government and law-enforcement officials who were involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and their lawyers in Jiangsanjiang, Heilongjiang province, have met with ill fates.

The Jiangsanjiang Incident

On March 21, 2014, seven Falun Gong practitioners and four of their lawyers were arrested in a hotel after seeking the release of imprisoned friends and clients in the Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center in Jiangsanjiang. (The arrests and subsequent abuse in detention have come to be referred to as the “Jiangsanjiang Incident.”)

The four lawyers were taken to the police station. While uniformed policemen watched, plainclothes officers severely beat them. The lawyers suffered broken bones, and four of seven practitioners were later sentenced to prison.

News of the arrests and abuse spread through the Internet, and people from all walks of life in the international community condemned the crimes.

After the incident, numerous officials involved have met the karmic retribution.

Indicted on Corruption Charges

Immediately after the arrests and subsequent abuse, several policemen in Jiangsanjiang were indicted for dealing and using drugs. Scandals involving government officials' involvement with prostitutes were also exposed.

Li Binghua, then deputy police chief of the Qixing Police Department, who directed the arrests and mistreatment of the practitioners and lawyers, was sentenced to 15 years for drug dealing.

In 2015, family members of the sentenced Falun Gong practitioners in the Jiangsanjiang Incident appealed to the higher courts. But the Jiangsanjiang government set up a special task force, whose goal was to interfere with the appeals. In December 2015, several family members, who also practice Falun Gong, were arrested, imprisoned, and tortured. They are facing trials now.

Right after these arrests, a group of law enforcement officers in Jiansanjiang were indicted for illegally raising funds totaling 300 million yuan (nearly 50 million U.S. dollars). The investigation is still ongoing.

Yu Wenbo, a police officer in the Jiangsanjiang Police Department, who beat the lawyers so severely that several suffered broken ribs, is now deeply enmeshed in the illegal fundraising case.

Other Forms of Karmic Retribution

In addition to prosecution for illegal activities, other officers involved with the Jiangsanjiang Incident have met untimely deaths, terminal or serious illnesses, and injury.

Xu Zhanhe, from the Qixing Police Department, committed suicide.

Shi Zhongcheng, head of the Qixing Farming Bureau, died from an illness at age 50.

Si Jingang from the Qixing Police Department was badly injured in a car accident.

Wang Zhaoli, head of the provincial farming bureau, was injured in a car accident in January 2015.

Feng Zhiqing from the Qixing Police Department developed terminal brain disease.

Yu Rong from the Jiansanjiang Police Department developed terminal cancer.

Hao Hongjun, a prosecutor in the Jiansanjiang Incident, had a severe stroke earlier this year.

Sui Fengfu, former head of the provincial farming bureau, was indicted in November, 2014.

A Two-thousand-year-old Proverb

“On the doer of good, heaven sends down all blessings, and on the doer of evil, heaven sends down all calamities” – this teaching has been passed down for over two thousand years.
