(Minghui.org) A Fushun City resident is facing trial for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.

Ms. Cai Wei was arrested on September 23, 2016 outside the Fushun City Detention Center. She was released on bail four days later. The Wanghua District Police Department forwarded her case to the procuratorate on November 1, and the latter indicted her days later.

The indictment stated that Ms. Cai had distributed DVDs bearing Falun Gong messages outside the detention center, when in fact she had nothing in her hands and she was just there to meet someone.

The local court notified Ms. Cai on December 1 that a court hearing would soon be scheduled.

The 68-year-old woman started practicing Falun Gong in 1999 but stopped in 2000, shortly after the persecution began. She resumed the practice in 2007 when doctors diagnosed her with incurable late-stage diabetes and complications, including brain stem infarctions and breathing difficulties. She had to stay in the hospital, hooked up with tubes all day.

Ms. Cai picked up a copy of Zhuan Falun a day after she was discharged from the hospital. She read it for two hours straight. The next day her husband was amazed to note that her blood sugar level had returned to normal. Before she knew it, she was healthy again.

Ms. Cai said, “Falun Gong gave me a second life. I am forever indebted to Master Li Hongzhi.”
