Additional Persecution News from China – October 20, 2016 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 were illegally arrested.

1. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Li Peigao, 79; Ms. Ji Fuxian; and Ms. He Shuangfeng were arrested on November 26, 2015. Mr. Li and Ms. Ji were released on bail, while Ms. He was taken to the Kunming Detention Center.

They were tried in the Xishan District Court on September 8, 2016, and sentenced on October 8. Both Mr. Li and Ms. He were sentenced to four years in prison and Ms. Ji to three years.

2. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Xiangming Arrested

Mr. Zhang Xiangming was arrested and his home ransacked on October 14, 2016.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Manru and Ms. Zhang Aimin Arrested

Ms. Wang Manru and Ms. Zhang Aimin were arrested by officers from the Erdao Town Police Station on October 18, 2016.

4. [Linjiang City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Bingjuan and Mr. Wang Yonghua Arrested

Ms. Zhu Bingjuan and her husband Mr. Wang Yonghua were arrested at home by officers from the Linjiang City Domestic Security Division on October 18, 2016. The police ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and other personal items. Mr. Wang was released because he failed the physical exam required by the detention center. Ms. Zhu was taken to the Baishan City Detention Center.

5. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Mr. Fang Haoqi Detained

Mr. Fang Haoqi, an employee of the Susong County Taxation Bureau, was arrested at home by officers from the Susong County Domestic Security Division on September 26, 2016. The police ransacked his home. He was taken to the Susong County Detention Center.

Mr. Tang Jiayin was arrested at home by officers from the Xiaoanshan Town Police Station on October 19, 2016.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Meilian and Ms. Zhan Yingxiang's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Gao Meilian and Ms. Zhan Yingxiang were arrested by officers from the Binhe Road Police Station on October 18, 2016, for posting informational stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Li Xifu Sentenced

Mr. Li Xifu, 75, was tried and sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Jinyuan District Court on August 31, 2016. He appealed.

9. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xingkai, Ms. Yin Yachan, and Mr. Qiao Jianbang Detained

Ms. Wang Xingkai and Ms. Yin Yachan were arrested on October 15, 2016, by Yang Guangke, secretary of the Raoyang County Political and Legal Affairs Committee; He Guangming, captain of the Domestic Security Division; Cui Jindian, deputy captain; and other officers. Both women are held in the Hengshui City Detention Center.

Mr. Qiao Jianbang is held in a brainwashing center.

10. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Dang Ronghua Arrested

Ms. Dang Ronghua was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on October 16, 2016.

11. [Xiaochang County, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Taipo Arrested

Ms. Huang Taipo was arrested by officers from the Tieludian Police Station on October 19, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Huayuan Railway Station.

12. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Yang Xuemei Arrested

Ms. Yang Xuemei was arrested, handcuffed, and shackled on September 19, 2016. She was later taken to Lanzhou City.

13. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Cheng Hua's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Cheng Hua, 70, was arrested on October 12, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Pu Dehua and Ms. Zhao Qiefang Sentenced

Mr. Pu Dehua and Ms. Zhao Qiefang, in her 60s, were arrested by officers from the Xishui County Domestic Security Division on October 15, 2015. They were taken to the Xishui Detention Center.

Mr. Pu and Ms. Zhao were tried in the Xishui County Court on September 19, 2016. Mr. Pu was sentenced to a three-year prison term and Ms. Zhao to a one-year term. Both were taken to the Zunyi Prison.

15. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Meng Xiu'e Arrested

Ms. Meng Xiue was arrested and her home ransacked on October 14, 2016. She was taken to the Fushun City Detention Center.
