Farmer Ms. Wang Shupei Files Criminal Complaint Against Jiang Zemin

November 11, 2016 |

(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Shupei, 55, is a farmer residing in Zhujia Village in Shandong Province. Because she had not renounced Falun Gong, she has been repeatedly arrested and imprisoned, and her home has been ransacked.

She was held for a total of six years in a detention center, a brainwashing center, forced labor camps and a prison. She was subjected to torture and forced to take unknown drugs.

Ms. Wang has filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) head, Jiang Zemin, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.

Summary of the Persecution

Ms. Wang went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in March and October of 2000. She was arrested and detained for 37 and 20 days respectively. The police also extorted 7,000 yuan from her.

She was sentenced to a two-year term and taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp twice, but the officials there refused to accept her because of a health condition.

She was taken to a brainwashing center in April 2002 and detained until May 13, 2002. She was repeatedly slapped, punched and kicked. Ms. Wang lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

She was sentenced to a six-year term in March 2004 and held in Jinan Women’s Prison. She was beaten, kicked and deprived of sleep for more than 10 days. Ms. Wang went on a hunger strike for three days to protest the persecution and was force-fed an unknown drug.

After she fainted twice in June 2006, the prison doctor added an unknown drug into the IV that caused memory loss, uncontrollable shouting and pressure in her skull. She became lethargic and emaciated and weighed around 70 pounds.

Ms. Wang was arrested again in April 2012 and held in Qianjin Forced Labor Camp. She was tortured and given very small rations of food and water. The guards also forcibly took blood samples from her and added an unknown drug to her meals.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides the police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
