(Minghui.org) A Shijiazhuang woman was prevented from leaving Beijing International Airport on October 13, 2016. She had intended to fly to Vancouver to help take care of her daughter, whose baby was on the way, but the immigration officers invalidated her passport.

She was later informed that it was because she had filed a criminal complaint against the former dictator, Jiang Zemin.

Passport Invalidated

On the afternoon of October 13, 2016, when Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qi Qiaorong passed through security at the Beijing airport, security personnel stopped her and asked if her passport had ever been reported lost. She said that it had not.

The officer then took her passport and clipped off a corner of it, saying, “This passport is now invalid.”

She asked, “How is it invalid?”

“Go check with your local police department and get a replacement,” was the officer's reply.

Given the Runaround

Ms. Qi hurried back to the police department in her hometown and requested a passport replacement. She was informed that they could not issue her a replacement, and that she would have to return to her original household registration department to ask for one.

The police told her that she did not have a criminal record, but that she would have to check with the neighborhood committee. The neighborhood committee told her to check with yet another department. In the end, she was told that only the 610 Office had the authority to resolve the issue.

Targeted for Filing a Criminal Complaint

When Ms. Qi was finally able to meet with the 610 Office director and ask for his assistance, he banged the table and shouted, “Stop pretending! Don't you know that this has got to do with the letter (referring to the criminal complaint)? If you want to leave, write a guarantee statement first.”

Ms. Qi tried to explain why she had filed the complaint, but the director refused to listen and left the room.

On October 19 and 20, Ms. Qi went to the relevant authorities again, hoping to resolve her passport issue, but to no avail.
