(Minghui.org) Ignoring security is a serious problem among Falun Dafa practitioners in our area. Some have exposed the source of their Dafa truth-clarification materials, while others have mentioned sensitive information while talking on the phone.
Several Dafa materials production sites which had operated smoothly for over ten years were recently destroyed by local police. Most of the recent arrests of fellow practitioners were due to not being cognizant of security issues.
Many sharing articles about this issue have been published on the Minghui website, but practitioners ignore these articles, while others believe that the persecution has lessened and the environment has become more relaxed. This has resulted in losses to our Dafa community.
They learned their lesson, or so we thought, yet they soon reverted to their old habits. In some places, whoever reminds anyone that security is essential is accused of holding the attachment of fear. This has become an obstacle to security.
Ignoring security is a serious loophole. We have separated our cultivation from the security issue for too long. This may be why many fellow practitioners associate security with fear, and treat security so casually.
Taking Master's Warning Seriously
Master has told us to pay attention to security multiple times.
Master said,
“You are carrying a listening device on you. Besides spies and governments, anyone is able to monitor you at will, and it's very simple. That's all it is, and whether you keep it on or off, it doesn't make any difference. I am speaking here, and you know, the evil CCP is listening over there as well.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference”)
He has clearly told us that our cell phones are “listening devices.” Shall we listen to Master or follow our notions?
The articles on the Minghui website are seen by many as regular sharing and not as warnings that ignoring security could result in persecution.
It is important that we remove cell phone batteries when necessary, so that the phones can't serve as “listening devices.” Most importantly, we should not mention anything about our projects during phone conversations.
What Master has told us is for our benefit. Failing to follow Master's words represents a serious gap in our cultivation.
Attachments Associated with Disregarding Security
Attachment to Showing off
While on the phone, some practitioners do not hesitate to tell the source of Dafa informational materials and who is involved in the process. Some even introduced the practitioners who are involved with producing the materials to people. They thought they were doing a good deed, but failed to consider the safety of the production sites and those involved in the process.
Without being asked, some practitioners explain in detail their involvement in the production site and who is responsible for the project coordination. This is not just being ignorant about security. It also involves the attachment to showing off.
When it seems that the environment has become relaxed and the persecution has eased, some practitioners tell everyone that they no longer need to be fearful. However, this is only their perception and wishful thinking. This has nothing to do with reality.
The Domestic Security Division continues to monitor practitioners' cell phones and land lines. They can easily and conveniently gather all relevant information from the phone conversations. An employee of our local Domestic Security Division told a practitioner that they knew exactly who did what, but they have not taken any action.
Attachment to Comfort
Some practitioners feel that paying attention to security is bothersome, which actually shows the attachment to comfort. Nevertheless, following Master's requirement is necessary to ensure our safety and prevent the persecutors from interfering.
If we think of security as being a hassle, it will certainly cause losses, and not just to ourselves, but also to fellow practitioners.
Security is Critical Cultivation Issue
Almost every area has a couple of practitioners who ignore security and refuse to listen to advice. Their boldness is even admired by some practitioners and considered to come from strong righteous thoughts and fearlessness. Yet, this has caused huge losses for the entire body of cultivators.
As a matter of fact, paying attention to security is a must, even if we are not fearful, because it is a requirement for all practitioners and stipulated by the Fa.
Severe persecution of Falun Dafa in China has lasted a long time and still continues. It makes security a critical part of our cultivation.
Taking security seriously is a test as to whether we can be considerate of others, listen to advice, cultivate our speech, and eliminate our attachments. It is also essential for reaching a cultivation state that carries righteous thoughts, rationality, and altruism.
