(Minghui.org) I am a 58-year-old Falun Gong practitioner who used to practice Buddhism.
Before I finally found Falun Gong, I had several visions of a Buddha. I now know that it was Master. Friends and I went in search for statues that looked like the Buddha I had seen in my visions.
End of Search For a Cultivation Practice
I was told about Falun Gong on January 14, 1996. After I read an introduction to Falun Gong, I decided that I wanted to cultivate in this cultivation practice. That evening I watched the video of Master's Fa teaching in Jinan, and realized that I had seen Master Li, the founder of Falun Gong, in my visions.
Heat came down from the top of my head to my feet after I studied the Fa for only three days and I felt freed from the illnesses that had plagued me for 20 years. My relatives and friends witnessed the amazing changes I experienced.
I set up an exercise site and my husband and I visited nearby areas to tell others about Falun Gong. More and more people began to practice Falun Gong
Righteous Thoughts Deter Evil
I was arrested and taken to the local police station in 2001. The police also ransacked my home and the head of the police station ordered an officer to force me to burn a Falun Gong book. I cried and refused. The chief of police kicked the stool on which I sat on, and I was thrown for quite a distance. I stood up immediately and loudly recited Master's poem,
“Dafa is what you carry everywhere,Zhen Shan Ren, rooted in the mind;A great Arhat walks the earth,Gods and demons fear with awe.”(“Benevolent Might” from Hong Yin)
The chief just dropped his hands and that was the end of his demands.
Walked in Another Dimension to Escape Arrest
A practitioner and I went to Beijing to peacefully protest for the right to practice Falun Gong in 2001. On the way back, we passed a check point, where police held electric batons and rubber rods. I sat down in a fast food restaurant and asked Master for help.
I remembered that Master said in Zhuan Falun, “...other dimensions that exist simultaneously in the same place.”
I immediately asked Master, “Please help me walk through another dimension to pass this checkpoint.” I got on my bicycle and passed the checkpoint.
Police Officer Admits to Being Wrong
At a party where I wanted to clarify the truth about Falun Gong to people one person said, “I'll tell you some good news. Someone told me that if one often recites: 'Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good', you would be blessed.”
I took over the topic and said, “Falun Gong is really amazing when it comes to keeping fit and healing illness. It can also uplift one's morality.” I also talked about the April 25, 1999 incident, when practitioners went to peacefully report and clarify the facts to the government. At the end of the party, everyone said that they listened very attentively and even forgot to eat the food.
At another party, a police officer said that I could practice Falun Gong, but I could not oppose the government. I replied, “I am not against anyone. It is Jiang Zemin (the former head of the Party) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) who violate human rights and the Chinese Constitution. Why do they destroy all the Falun Gong books and materials? Since I studied the Fa, I have enjoyed good health and have not argued with other people. How am I opposing the government?” He conceded, “I am wrong and you are right.”
Attachment to Emotion Creates Problems
I was arrested and taken to a police station in September 2002. They planned to take me to a labor camp. During the hospital check up, I asked Master for help, and sent forth righteous thoughts. I was diagnosed with uterine tumors and my health deteriorated. The police released me after they extorted nearly 10,000 yuan from my family.
While under a lot of pressure, my husband wanted me to no longer practice Falun Gong. I could not face what happened with righteous thoughts and was not diligent on my cultivation path.
I had problems with my liver, kidneys, and lungs during the latter part of 2010. I experienced many illness symptoms, and my uterine tumors grew larger and larger. I couldn't eat, drink, or sleep.
Fellow practitioners heard about this, and came to study the Fa with me. We strengthened our righteous thoughts and our belief in Master and the Fa. I found my fundamental attachment—emotion. It is just like what was said in one of Master's poems, “Emotion is a net: the more one struggles, the more it tightens.” (“What's Your Yearning?” in Hong Yin III)
My health improved a lot within 20 days, but the swelling did not disappear. My family members teamed up and decided to take me to a hospital. After a few hours in the hospital, my situation rapidly worsened.
My son called his boss to request 100,000 yuan to save my life. I took the phone from him and said, “I am alright, there is no need for money. No amount of money can save my life. You just need to sincerely recite, 'Falun Gong is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good', and ask Master to save me.”
The doctor gave me only a one percent chance to survive. My husband called my sister and my daughter who are both practitioners. My sister came and told my husband that I would be alright. Then, she came to my room and told me to go home.
Once in the car, my sister said, “Let us sincerely recite, 'Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' Then my sister will be alright.”
At home, every day my sister and daughter played Master's Fa lecture videos. I was able to get out of bed after 3 days and do the first set of exercises 10 days later. My family members witnessed the power of Falun Gong.
When I visited the doctor in the hospital, he asked me who removed the tumor. I answered his questions, and also told everyone in the hospital about Falun Gong. After people learned the facts about Falun Gong, some became practitioners, some quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and many understood the truth about Falun Gong.
