(Minghui.org) Beijing Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Xiurong was illegally sentenced to four years imprisonment even though the judge admitted that the evidence was suspicious.

The Changping Court held a trial against Ms. Gao on June 18, 2015. The police produced Falun Gong materials as evidence, such as 10 flyers, a brochure and a CD, and claimed that they had a witness that Ms. Gao was distributing the materials.

Ms. Gao's lawyer asked that the witness be presented in court. The judge refused the request. Ms. Gao told the judge that the evidence presented by the police was fabricated.

When Ms. Gao's lawyer met with Judge Wang Shikuan on August 12, Wang agreed that the evidence was dubious.

Wang also said that Ms. Gao's sentence was increased from three years to four years since this was Ms. Gao's second conviction. Ms. Gao had been sentenced to three years imprisonment in 2008.

Ms. Gao was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on June 4, 2014, and has been detained at the Changping Detention Center since then. The center denied her family visits for the first year.

Ms. Gao has filed an appeal.
