(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) participated in Quad Day on August 23, 2015 to introduce the practice to new students. The purpose of Quad Day is to expose students to the diverse opportunities available for becoming involved in the campus community, especially student organizations. There were many students from China at the event.

Chinese students pause to learn more about Falun Gong.

Seeing the banners reading “Falun Dafa” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” many Chinese students took photos with their cell phones. One new student from China was surprised after listening to a practitioner explain the persecution of Falun Gong, and agreed with the principles of Falun Gong. Another student said, “I learned the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong when I was in China by browsing online after getting around the Internet firewall.” When asked if he knew about Falun Dafa at UIUC, he said, “My friends are spreading a photo of your booth today on wechat (a social website). So I came to see you.”

One female student from China was stunned after hearing a practitioner describe the facts of the brutal persecution, and that his parents were imprisoned for practicing Falun Gong. She accepted the Falun Gong information materials and left with her friends.

“I came out to validate that Falun Dafa is good, not like what the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) describes in its propaganda,” said a practitioner to a student from China who did not dare to accept the information materials. Upon hearing that, the student said with a smile, “Good!” and took them.

“In China, I heard lots of propaganda against Falun Gong. The Party is atheist, but my family believes in theism. Thus I kept neutral before I knew Falun Gong well. Now that I have come overseas, I would like to learn more about Falun Gong,” said a female student from China coming to take information materials. She listened to a practitioner explain the CCP's persecution, and organ harvesting from living practitioners. She said she would read the materials carefully to learn more of the facts.

Two new students stood in front of the Falun Gong booth and read the informational materials. One of them, who was from Guangdong, said, “I met with Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong and learned the facts about the persecution. This time I came to learn more about the practice at our own school.” They left their contact information to learn the practice.

Two American students learned about the CCP's persecution, and were shocked upon hearing about the live organ harvesting. They asked how to help stop the persecution. A practitioner told them, “You can support the Congressional House Resolution 343, calling on the CCP to stop the live organ harvesting. You can also sign the petition to the United Nations calling for a stop to the live organ harvesting.” They left their contact information and expressed the desire to learn more about the petitions.
