Additional Persecution News from China – August 8, 2015 (28 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xiuan Detained

Mr. Wang Xiuan was arrested at home on August 5, 2015, by officers from Yantai City Police Department and Xingfu Police Station. The police ransacked his home. He was detained for ten days.

2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Dan Arrested

Ms. Jiang Dan was arrested at home on August 4, 2015, by officers from Taoyuan Village Police Station in Erdaojiang District. The police confiscated computers, printers, and other personal belongings.

3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shan Jihua and Mr. Liu Yongrui Arrested

Ms. Shan Jihua and her husband Mr. Liu Yongrui were arrested and their home was ransacked by officers from Gaomi City Criminal Police Division on August 6, 2015.

4. [Sanhe County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Jianpo and Others Arrested

Mr. Yang Jianpo, along with other practitioners, were arrested by officers from the Beicheng Police Station on August 7, 2015, as they were sending righteous thoughts outside the Sanhe County Court, where Mr. Wang Zhanqing and Mr. Wen Jie were on trial. Mr. Wang Jianpo and the others were taken to Sanhe Police Station.

5. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zhiqiang Sentenced

Mr. Li Zhiqiang, sentenced to a four-year prison term, was taken by Dezhou Detention Center personnel, to the Dezhou Prison on August 5, 2015. However, the prison refused to receive Mr. Li due to his illnesses. He is still detained at Dezhou Detention Center.

6. [Changwu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xi Cairong and Ms. Hou Yanjun Detained

Ms. Xi Cairong, 67, and Ms. Hou Yanjun, 56, were arrested by officers from Penggong Town Police Station on July 7, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are being detained at Weicheng District Detention Center in Xianyang City.

7. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Ying Arrested

Ms. Xu Ying was arrested by officers from Xiangyang Police Station in Jianshan District on August 6, 2015. The police ransacked her home. Ms. Xu was taken to Shuangyashan Detention Center.

8. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Rongxiang Arrested

Mr. Li Rongxiang was arrested by officers from Xuying Town Police Station on August 6, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

9. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners including Mr. Wang Huazhang were arrested by officers from the local Residential Administration Office, 610 Office, and police department on July 28, 2015. The police ransacked their homes. Mr. Wang was released that afternoon and the others are being detained at Erehu Brainwashing Center in Ziyang City.

10. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Kang Fuchun Sentenced

Ms. Kang Fuchun, arrested on August 9, 2013, has been detained at a detention center for two years. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term by an intermediate court on July 22, 2015.

Ms. Wang Aiyun was arrested on July 30, 2015, for mailing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former dictator of the Chinese Communist Party. Ms. Wang was detained for ten days.

12. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Yuhe Detained

Mr. Wang Yuhe was arrested at home by officers from Dong Police Station in Yangliuqing Town on August 6, 2015, for filing complaints against dictator Jiang Zemin with the Supreme Procuratorate and Supreme Court. He is detained at a detention center.

Ms. Wang Guizhi was arrested by plainclothes officers on August 7, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xin Li Detained

Ms. Xin Li was arrested at her workplace by officers from Ningbo Police Station in mid-May 2015. She is being detained at Cixi Detention Center in Ningbo City.

15. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wu Hongwei Detained

Mr. Wu Hongwei was arrested at home on August 6, 2015, and taken to Xingyuan Police Station by officers from the Yuancheng District 610 Office and Domestic Security Division. The police ransacked his home. He is being detained at Bailingtou Detention Center.

16. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Yazhou Imprisoned

Ms. Chen Yazhou, arrested in July 2014, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term by Jinzhou Court. She appealed to Dalian Intermediate Court, which upheld the original sentence without a trial. Ms. Chen was taken from Yaojia Detention Center to Liaoning Women's Prison on August 4, 2015.

Mr. Zhang Qingshu and Mr. Chen Limin were arrested by officers from the Qidaohe Town Police Station and Qidaohe Town Office on August 5, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at Qinglong County Detention Center.

Mr. Huang Yanhui was arrested by officers from Lequn Police Station on August 6, 2015. He was taken to Shuangcheng Detention Center.

19. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Hongxia and Ms. Ye Qingli Imprisoned

Ms. Liu Hongxia and Ms. Ye Qingli, were each sentenced to a three-year prison term. They appealed but were rejected. They were taken to Liaoning Women's Prison on August 4, 2015.

20. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Wenjuan and Ms. Gao Arrested

Ms. Liu Wenjuan and Ms. Gao were arrested and taken to Fuan Police Station on August 7, 2015.

21. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Qi Arrested

Ms. Li Qi was arrested on August 26, 2015.

22. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cui Sukun Arrested

Ms. Cui Sukun was arrested by officers from Dongjiao Police Station on August 6, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

23. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced

Five practitioners were sentenced to three to five years in prison by Baoding Intermediate Court on June 15, 2015. The practitioners include Mr. Ge Zhijun, Mr. Zhang Haiyang, Mr. Dong Hanjie, Ms. Dong Junhong, and Ms. Gao Chunlian. The three male practitioners are detained at Zhuozhou City Detention Center and the women at Qingyuan Detention Center.

24. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Chang'an's Case Submitted to Court

Mr. Li Chang'an, 45, was forced to become homeless and destitute for five years, to avoid being persecuted. He was arrested in Tangshan, Hebe Province on May 21 2015, and escorted back to Fangzheng County. His lawyer received a call from the court on July 29, 2015, saying that his case had been submitted to the court.The Procuratorate is planning to give Mr. Li a heavy sentence of 10 to 12 years.

25. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] A Family of Three Arrested

Mr. Yan Hongen and his wife Shi Yuzuo from Zhang Dian District were arrested in the shop they ran by officers from Jiangzhuang Police Station on the morning of August 6, 2015. His daughter and son-in-law went to the police station to ask about them. His daughter Ms. Yan Chunxu was held. The police forcibly sent the family of three to have physical examinations that afternoon. They were then taken to the Zibo Detention Center.

26. [Suiyang City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Sentenced

Xie Changcheng, presiding judge of the Criminal Court of Suiyang Forestry Court, led seven or eight personnel to the detention center on the morning of August 5, 2015, and announced the sentences for the seven practitioners from Dongning County. Mr. Jiang Wenhua, Mr. Zhang Zhong, and Ms. Liu Shiying were sentenced to four-year prison terms; Mr. Lu Shubin, 3.5 years; Ms. Wang Xiuyan, Mr. Zhao Jiakuan, and Ms. Li Meilian, 3 years.

27. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Min'gan's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Chen Min'gan filed an indictment against Jiang Zemin, former CCP leader, with the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court in late May 2015. He was arrested in front of his home on the night of July 21. His whereabouts are unknown.

28. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Yangming District Court sentenced three Falun Gong practitioners on June 22, 2015. Mr. Zhang Yuliang and his wife Jiang Yuemei were each given 4 years, while Ms. Jin Fengying was sentenced to 3 years. All three practitioners immediately filed appeals of their verdicts, but the lower court withheld the requests and did not submit the appeals to the higher court until August 5. The three practitioners are still detained following their arrest on September 14, 2014. It is not clear when they will be transferred to prison.
