(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Songli was taken to a brainwashing center on May 22, 2015, after being held for 15 days in a detention center.
Wu Leibo, director of the Jiangbei District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, said, “We are taking Yang Songli to a re-education class as required by a county-wide policy. All arrested practitioners will be held for 15 days, then transferred to a re-eduction center for a month. If they do not give up their belief, they will be held for as many months as it takes to make them give up the practice. However, if they refuse after several months, they will be sentenced to a prison.”
Ms. Yang, in her fifties, from the Jiangbei District, was arrested on May 7, 2015, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Tuwan, Shapingba District. She was taken to the Baiheling Detention Center.
Her husband, Mr. Gao, was told to take her home on May 22. However, Fan Guoxu, from the Huaxinjie Police Station in the Jiangbei District, along with Li Xiaomei, director of the Community Resident Committee, and Zhao, director of the Huaxinjie Neighborhood Association, arrived at the detention center soon after Mr. Gao.
They came to take Ms. Yang to a brainwashing center, as ordered by officials from the Jiangbei Political and Legal Affairs Committee.
Mr. Gao tried to stop them, but Wu, director of the Huaxinjie Police Station, came with reinforcements and took Ms. Yang to the brainwashing center located in Shuangyuyuan Vacation Village.
