(Minghui.org) I am in my late 70s, was born into a farmer's family in Liaoning Province, and did not attend school because my family was very poor.
After I married, I lived in the city and took a job. I had a hot temper and a competitive mind and suffered many ailments. After I retired, I became addicted to playing Mahjong.
When qigong became popular, my husband persuaded me that I play less Mahjong and practice some qigong. I was of two minds, but thought to check out some qigong practices in the park. I was not impressed and thought that they were not righteous, so I did not take it seriously.
Learning to Read in a Dream
I met a former co-worker in 1997 who persuaded me to practice Falun Dafa. She gave me a book and told me that the book was very good. I was not happy about her suggestion, as she knew that I could not read. But since she was very sincere, I took the book and left with the excuse of having to attend to some urgent matters at home.
I wondered if she was making fun of me, and thus I put the book aside. That night, I dreamed about a large incense burner, which burned brightly. When I woke up I wondered why I suddenly had a dream. But then, I associated it with the Buddha school, since my grandmother had told me many stories about Buddhism during my childhood.
I opened the book and read on the cover page Zhuan Falun, which is the main book of Falun Dafa. To my surprise, all the words in the book were bright and red and were moving around. I really wanted to read those words. I saw Master's photo in the book smiling and I said, “You want me to practice in the Buddha school. But, I am illiterate. What should I do.” I cried and fell asleep again. In my sleep, I read every single word.
I was so happy that I laughed out loud. My husband woke me up and asked, “What did you laugh about. You woke me up.” I got up and began to read Zhuan Falun without turning the light on.
I told my husband, “I'm reading the Buddha Law and the words are bright and red. The book is very good. You should read it too.” My husband checked and found that I truly read the book. I told him that Master just taught me to read in my dream. He said, “You have a predestined relationship with Buddha. The first sentence in the book said, 'Nothing is as profound as the Buddha law'. Buddha saves you!”
Following the Dafa Principles
Dafa taught me the true reason why people are born into this world. I came to this world to help Master rectify the Fa. Many of the bad things I committed was caused by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) poisoning of the human mind. I was selfish and made many mistakes. My family was afraid of me. But, I felt that I was a hero and everyone had to cater to me.
After I started practicing, my view of the world changed and I became kind and tolerant. I always thought of others first and looked inward during conflicts. I lived by the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and let go of many human notions.
For the first time in 20 years, I no longer suffered any ailments. I took every opportunity to talk to people about Dafa.
Producing Falun Dafa Materials
Since the CCP persecuted Dafa, I was arrested and detained a few times, but never for more than 15 days. I held no fear and told everyone in my area of Sichuan Province, Hangzhou City and areas near Beijing about Dafa.
When the local Dafa materials production site was destroyed I established a site. I bought a computer and printers and learned how to use them. With Master's help, my materials production site was soon up and running and I have distributed the materials in my local area and the countryside for the past 10 years
When the number of practitioners increased in my area we needed Dafa books. So, I learned how to print Zhuan Falun and other Dafa books. I not only gave the Dafa books to local practitioners, but also flew to Sichuan Province and Hangzhou City to distribute the Dafa books to practitioners.
Helping Former Practitioners Return to Dafa
Master said,
“And that's why I say those beings who dared to come here and obtain the Fa are all worth cherishing.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students,” Teaching the Fa at the Conference VI)
Helping former practitioners to return to the practice is also saving sentient beings. Practitioners in my Fa-study group decided to help former practitioners who deviated from the Fa and made mistakes to return to the practice. We studied the Fa together and shared experiences with them, so they could better understand the Fa principles and let go of their human notions.
Whenever I heard about a former practitioner, I did not hesitate to go wherever they lived, even if there was no public transportation and I had to walk.
A practitioner in his 70s moved in with his son in Sichuan Province after his wife passed away. He could not study the Fa and practice the exercises regularly. I took a plane to Sichuan Province to give him Zhuan Falun and Master's new articles. He practiced Dafa again and found fellow practitioners in his locality.
Another practitioner in his 70s was afraid and did not practice the exercises, however secretly read Zhuan Falun. I did everything I could to help him let go of fear. I sent him Dafa materials and he finally trusted me.
His wife was a Buddhist and worshiped at the Guanyin shrine every day. She did not like us to visit him. Therefore, we sent righteous thoughts in her home. I talked to her about Dafa and also shared cultivation experiences with her husband. Finally, she told us her true thoughts, “I believed in Buddhism for many years but it did not benefit me. Now, it is difficult for me to walk. My husband studied Dafa and he returned to good health. I know Dafa is supernatural. But I'm afraid. Since I converted to Buddhism, can I still cultivate Dafa?”
I talked to her at length about religions, such as Buddhism and said, “If you wish to practice Dafa, Master will help you. But, it is up to you.” She finally understood and decided to cultivate in Dafa.
A young practitioner deviated from the Fa after being imprisoned for eight years. I studied the Fa with him and helped him and his family get their life back together. I also helped him form a Fa-study group at his home. With fellow practitioners' selfless help and Master's compassion, he experienced the greatness of the Fa. He published the solemn declaration on the Minghui website, stating that all he had done against Dafa is null and void
