Additional Persecution News from China – May 2, 2015 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 28 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 were illegally arrested.

1. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

The Hanzhong City Intermediate Court sentenced Ms. Du Shuhui to eight years in prison, Ms. Du Shuming to seven-and-a-half years, Ms. Wang Xinlian to three-and-a-half years and Ms. Zhang Xinyueto to three years, on April 2, 2015.

The practitioners were taken to the Shaanxi Women's Prison on April 14, 2015, but Ms. Du Shuhui was not accepted because of poor physical condition. She taken back to the Hantai Detention Center.

2. [Yuzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Xu Suijiang and Mr. Lu Songlin Sentenced

Two practitioners were recently sentenced by the Changge City Court. Mr. Xu Suijiang was sentenced to three years in prison and Mr. Lu Songlin to three-and-a-half years.

3. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Six Practitioners' Sentences Upheld

Six practitioners were recently sentenced by Xie Fuzhi, judge of the Feng County Court in Jiangsu Province. Ms. Sun Meiying was sentenced to eight years in prison, Ms. Si Xiuli to seven years, Ms. Guo Yanhua to five years, Ms. Li Xinrong to five year, Ms. Jiang Qun to four-and-a-half years and Ms. Liu Qiaozhen to four years.

The practitioners appealed their sentences, but the Xuzhou Intermediate Court upheld the original sentences.

4. [Fengcheng City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wu Chunhua Detained

Ms. Wu Chunhua was reported by Zuo Xiaohui and was arrested by officers including Yang Nanshan, secretary of the Rongtang Town Political and Legal Affairs Committee, in the afternoon of March 10, 2015. Ms. Wu is currently detained at the Fengcheng City Detention Center.

5. [Guangshan County, Henan Province] Several Practitioners Persecuted

The homes of Ms. Hu Daoxiu, Mr. He Yuanbing, Mr. Chen Lianghe, and Mr. Liu Baoguo were ransacked by officers from the Guangshan County Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 25, 2015. Mr. Chen and Mr. Liu were arrested.

The homes of the Mr. Pei Guangan and Mr. Wang Xincheng were ransacked on April 26, 2015. Mr. Wang was arrested.

Ms. Xiong Benzhen was arrested on April 29, 2015.

6. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Chunrui Detained

Ms. Zhao Chunrui was arrested and taken to the Laiyuan County Detention Center by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on April 26, 2015.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shi Jingkun Arrested

Ms. Shi Jingkun was recently arrested.

8. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Mujie Detained

Mr. Zhang Mujie was transferred from the Xicheng Detention Center to the Xicheng Brainwashing Center by officers from the Baizhifang Police Station and Residential Community on April 25, 2015. He was sentenced to one month of detention.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Manxin and Ms. Shi Yingji Persecuted

Ms. Chen Manxin and Ms. Shi Yingji were taken from the Haidian Detention Center to another detention center by officers from the Yanqing Police Department on April 30, 2015.

10. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Huilai and Ms. He Weidong were arrested at the bus station by officers from the Beijing Domestic Security Division at noon on April 21, 2015. They were taken to the Yongwai Police Station. Ms. Li was later released on medical parole due to high blood pressure. Her daughter Ms. Hu Jinfan, also arrested on that day, is being detained at the Dongcheng Detention Center.

11. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ming Chun, Mr. Zhang Chengyu, and Mr. Lu Zhengguo were arrested and taken to the Chengnan Police Station on the afternoon of April 22, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were released that evening.

12. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

The 610 Office of the Binhu District Police Department in Wuxi City ordered the arrest of six practitioners by officers from the Qingshan Police Station on March 25, 2015:Mr. Bai Jie, 77, was released that day.Ms. Zhou Zijun, in her 70s, was released that day.Mr. Zhu Jie, in his 60s, was released the next day after they extorted 5,000 yuan from his family.Ms. Zhang Yazhen, in her 60s, was released after five days.Ms. Wu Yaomei, in her 60s, was released on April 24, 2015.Ms. Sun Xianying, in her 70s, was released on April 24, 2015.

13. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Hongbin Arrested

Mr. Sun Hongbin was arrested in the afternoon of April 23, 2015.

14. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sang Minggang and Mr. Guo Detained

Mr. Sang Minggang and Mr. Guo were arrested by officers from the Xiaqiu Town Police Station on the morning of May 1, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at the police station.

15. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yang Xiuhua and Ms. Yu Guimin Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiuhua and Ms. Yu Guimin were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Hongan Police Station on May 1, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.
