Additional Persecution News from China – March 23, 2015 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, 3 practitioners appealed their illegal sentences, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhongjiang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Qi Xiaoping and Ms. Wang Xiaomei Sentenced to Prison

Zhongjiang County Court sentenced two practitioners on March 17, 2015. Ms. Qi Xiaoping was given seven years and six months in prison, and Ms. Wang Xiaomei, three years and six months in prison. They were sentenced under fabricated charges for telling people about Falun Gong. Both practitioners have appealed the sentencing to the intermediate court.

2. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ji Guoxiang Again Forced to Leave Home

Officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division and the Chalukou Police Station made three attempts to arrest Mr. Ji Guoxiang in March 2010, but failed. Mr. Ji was forced to leave town and remained displaced for five years.

Mr. Ji was asked to return to work in 2015. The police officers came to his workplace trying to arrest him again on March 13, but Mr. Ji was not there. He was forced to leave home again.

3. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Mr. Meng Xianglong Detained

Mr. Meng Xianglong was arrested on his way to work by Domestic Security officers on the morning of March 19, 2015. It was learned that Mr. Meng is being held in the Huyaguan Detention Center. Family visits were denied.

Mr. Meng was secretly sentenced to five years in prison in 2000. He was held in the Fanjiatai Prison, where he was severely tortured and abused. During one of the beatings his teeth were broken.

Mr. Meng's prison term ended in June 2005. He was then taken to a brainwashing center. After he returned home he was dismissed from his job.

4. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dongmei Detained

Ms. Wang Dongmei is being held in the Shiyan City Detention Center.

5. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guan Manhua in Police Custody

Ms. Guan Manhua was arrested on March 17, 2015. She is being held in the Mengzhuang Police Station, Shanting District.

6. [Beijing] Case Files for Framing Three Practitioners Returned the Second Time to Police Department

Mr. Jiang Xiandong, from the Daxing District Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Du Wenge, and Ms. Feng Yumei from Huangcun Town were arrested on the same day, June 21, 2014. They were held in the Daxing Detention Center for more than nine months. This is the second time the Daxing District Procuratorate returned case files against these three practitioners to the police department.

7. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Tiane Faces Trial

Ms. Guo Tiane, an employee at the Lingyun Industrial Group Co., Ltd, Songlindian Town, is facing trial. The trial will be held in a small court in the Tiangezhuang Village Detention Center, Qingyuan County, Baoding City.

8. [Wuning County, Jiangxi Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Xuanqin, Ms. Zhang Hanshu, Mr. Wang Liming, Mr. Zhou Qiliang, a practitioner with the last name Tian, and two other practitioners were arrested on March 21, 2015.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Shuqin Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Shuqin, in her 60s, was sentenced to seven years following her arrest on April 16, 2014. It is not known which prison she is being kept in.

10. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Jun Appeals Her Sentence

Ms. Lu Jun recently filed an appeal regarding her three-year sentence for telling people about Falun Gong on social media. Fengcheng City Court has forwarded her case to Dandong City Procuratorate, and she is awaiting notice of a hearing date.

11. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Guifen Appeals Her Sentence

Ms. Lu Guifen is appealing her three-and-a-half-year sentence with the Baoding Intermediate Court. In her complaint, Ms. Lu demanded that the court revoke the illegal sentence, return all her confiscated personal property, compensate her for the economic loss and emotional damage that resulted from being arrested, having her home ransacked, detention and sentencing. She demanded she be acquitted of the charges.

She is still held in the Baoding Detention Center.
