Additional Persecution News from China – April 18, 2015 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ma Jinkai Detained

Mr. Ma Jinkai was arrested by officers from the Beijing Police Department, the Yanqing Police Department, the Domestic Security Division and the Yongning Police Station on April 17, 2015. The police ransacked his home. Mr. Ma was to be held in the Haidian Detention Center for 15 days

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Hu Xingzhen Detained

Ms. Hu Xingzhen was arrested by officers from the Gaofeng Police Station in Wanzhou District on April 16, 2015. She is detained at the Gaofeng Police Station.

3. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Lianying and Ms. Zhao Tianxiu Arrested

Ms. Chen Lianying and Ms. Zhao Tianxiu were arrested by officers from the Qingzhou City 610 Office and the Kaifaqu Police Station in Wangmugong Town on April 15, 2015. Ms. Chen was released that evening. Ms. Zhao was not released and has been tortured with the iron chair.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Qing Detained

Ms. Xu Qing was arrested at home by officers from the 610 Office branch of the Jinzhou City Police Department, the Taihe Police Department, and the Bajiazi Village Committee on April 16, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer and computer. She is detained at the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhang Shuilian Detained

Ms. Zhang Shuilian was arrested at home on April 13, 2015. She is held in the Fuzhou No. 2 Detention Center.

6. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xingyin and Mr. Zhang Xinjian Arrested

Ms. Chen Xingyin and her husband Mr. Zhang Xinjian were arrested at home by officers from Cuiping District in Yibin City on April 16, 2015. The police ransacked their home. It is not known what, if anything, was confiscated.

7. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Wenqing Detained

Mr. Sun Wenqing was taken to the Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City on April 16, 2015.

8. [Hongan County, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Qiumei and Ms. Wu Liheng Detained

Ms. Zhang Qiumei and Ms. Wu Liheng were arrested by officers from the Yonghe Town Police Station on April 12, 2015. They are detained in the Huolianfan Detention Center in Hongan County.

9. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Long Lianying Detained

Ms. Long Lianying was arrested by officers from the Shuilu Police Station in Zaoshi Town on April 12, 2015. She was to be held in the Leiyang City Detention Center for 10 days.

10. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Yuekun Detained

Mr. Liu Yuekun was arrested by officers from the Xinyi Police Station in Dongshn District, Hegang City, on April 15, 2015, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. The police ransacked his home. Mr. Liu is being held at a detention center.

11. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Yu Yingzuo, Ms. Guo Zhihua, Ms. Cao Meixiang and Ms. Geng Congyu were arrested by officers from the Rushan City Domestic Security Division on April 7, 2015, in the area close to a detention center. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated computers, printers and personal items. They are detained at the Rushan City Detention Center.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Tried

Mr. Tian Jinxin, Ms. Han Jing, and Ms. Liu Yuhan were tried on April 16, 2015 for hiring lawyers to defend two Shenyang residents detained for practicing Falun Gong.

The three defendants' lawyers argued that the prosecutor's evidence was not admissible, as it was obtained through torture during interrogation. The lawyers filed a complaint against judge Huang Gang after he refused to dismiss the falsified evidence. The three practitioners, all from Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, are still held in the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center.

13. [Suihua, Heilongjiang Province] Prison Rejects Mr. Liu Fucai's Request for Medical Parole

Mr. Liu Fucai, 53, was arrested on March 5, 2012 for telling people about benefits he derived from practicing Falun Gong. He was illegally sentenced to a 4-year prison term. He is imprisoned in Daqing Prison, where he developed tuberculosis due to mistreatment and poor living conditions. Prison officials have rejected his request for medical parole, citing his refusal to give up his belief.

14. [Huludao, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Detained

Eight residents of Huludao City were arrested on March 16 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The brother of one practitioner was arrested 10 days later for trying to gain his sister's release. All 9 people are now detained in the Chaoyang County Detention Center. Their cases were forwarded to the Chaoyang County Procuratorate and they are facing a trial.

15. [Beijing] Ms. Meng Jiying's Appeal Denied

The Beijing City Second Intermediate Court recently denied Ms. Meng Jiying's appeal. She was given a 4-year prison sentence for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained twice before this and was imprisoned in Beijing Women's Prison from 2004 to 2009. One year after her release, she was arrested again and taken to Beijing Women's Labor Camp.
