Third Trial for the Same Illegal Arrest
(Minghui.org) Ms. Tian Xin (田心) appeared at the Kequ Court in Inner Mongolia on February 13, 2015. This is the third time she has been tried over the same illegal arrest.
When the presiding judge read aloud the charges, Ms. Tian's response was, “I did not receive notice about this hearing in advance. This violates the legal procedures of the court.”
Adding to Ms. Tian's remarks, her attorney stated that the court had violated Article 182 of the Criminal Procedure Law by failing to notify all relevant parties at least three days prior to the court date.
Presiding Judge Liu Lili claimed that the hearing notice had been issued in a timely manner, although none of the parties involved had received it. Judge Liu adjourned the hearing to February 17, 2015.
Ms. Tian's attorney requested a postponement to a later date, but the judge rejected the request.
Ms. Tian was first tried at Tongliao City Detention Center on October 31. The judge adjourned the trial without issuing a verdict. The second trial was held on January 6, 2015.
Ms. Tian was arrested in August 2014 for possessing Falun Gong books and informational materials.
