(Minghui.org) The founder of Falun Dafa, respectfully referred to as "Teacher," told practitioners that they should read the Dafa books often, send forth righteous thoughts, and tell people about the practice.
Those of us in our Fa-study group are veteran practitioners—some attended Teacher's lectures, and everyone began to practice before July 1996. The oldest is 79 and the youngest 71. Thus, we all feel that we have a big responsibility and that everything we accomplish comes from our belief in Teacher.
Remaining Calm and Kind
The strength of our righteous thoughts determines the effectiveness of how well we tell people the facts about Dafa. Therefore, we send out a thought before we tell people about Dafa: “Teacher, please help us create a good environment where we can tell the facts about Dafa without fear.”
It is important to maintain a peaceful and kind mental state so people will respond well when we ask them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and tell them the facts about Falun Dafa.
We have told people the facts about Falun Dafa every morning since 2011, rain or shine, hot or cold. We have not counted how many we helped have quit the CCP, but on some days we have helped around 50 people and never less than 10.
The people who quit the CCP come from all backgrounds and ranks. We have helped garbage collectors, laborers, farmers, business owners, teachers, professors, doctors, nurses, engineers, civil servants, police, and judges. Of course we have not forgotten our former classmates, colleagues, bosses, and neighbors.
We carry Shen Yun performance DVDs, amulets, and Dafa informational materials with us. One of the main problems we face is making sure not to use the same name twice for people who quit the Party—since so many want out!
I thought of some names I could use one day while I was riding the bus. It suddenly came to me that a name is just a symbol. The person him or herself can come up with a name. When we tell them that a name is just a symbol, people often give us their real names.
Teacher said, “With no factors at work behind the scenes, a human being will do whatever you tell him to.” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching”)
When we see someone, we will send forth a thought—something like, “Get rid of the evil factors. Let this person do whatever is most righteous.” Often we need to say just a few sentences after that, and people will quit.
Sometimes an entire family will quit. Some ask us for the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.Othersremind us to be careful, and some comment on our youthful looks.
Offering Encouragement
1. We met a middle-aged man on a bridge. He looked a bit down and told us that he did not sleep well. “You need to recite 'Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Compassion is good,'” I told him. “It will help you sleep.”
We chatted for a bit, and then I asked him if he had ever joined the CCP or its affiliates. He said he had and that he would like to have a copy of the Nine Commentaries.
He told us that he had heard of Falun Dafa and had a good friend who used to be a practitioner, but who stopped practicing after July 20, 1999.
I gave him a copy of the Nine Commentaries, a copy of Dissolve the Culture of the Chinese Communist Party, and an MP3 with some Dafa informational materials.
2. It was early spring when we met up with three people sitting on a bench. We wished then a nice day and gave out the last calendar we had.
I asked one of them if he had ever joined the Youth League, and he said he had. Then he gave us his name, Zhang Ming, to quit.
The fellow next to him also agreed to quit the Youth League and gave his name as Ming. He asked if we needed money, which we declined. We thought he was wealthy, but he told us that he only made around 2,000 yuan per month. This truly moved us. He earned so little and still wanted to help. We also helped the third person quit the CCP before we left.
3. As we left the three men, we noticed a middle-aged man who had been watching us from a distance. We approached him, but before we said anything, he said, “I know what you want to say. I am supposed to monitor Falun Dafa in this area. Every practitioner in this area is assigned a number, but I don't follow their orders. I always look the other way and don't report anything.”
“You are a good man,” we said. “If you treat Dafa well, you will be rewarded. You will have a good future.” He also agreed to quit the CCP. Afterward, he asked us if we needed money, but when we declined and thanked him, he cautioned us to be careful of the plainclothes people in that area.
4. A youngster near the park asked us for directions. I asked him his name and if he was from out of town. He said he was called Zhang Wei and came from Beijing. He was here on a business trip. He said that he had joined the Youth League, but when he decided to quit, he said, “I could not find anyone to help me.”
He quit with us, and I asked him to remember "Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Compassion is good."
