Australia: Promoting Falun Gong at Multicultural Festival in Melbourne
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Melbourne, Australia, participated in the Global Village Multicultural Festival in Princes Park on October 25 and 26, 2015.
They demonstrated the exercises, handed out information about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, and collected signatures to support the practitioners filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP.
Ms. Janine Rankin, the organizer of the Falun Gong activities, told the reporter, “People of different ethnic backgrounds showed great interest in Falun Gong. Many of them heard about Falun Gong for the first time.”
More than 70 booths were colorfully decorated to reflect different cultures. Music and dances attracted many spectators.
The Falun Gong booth stood out when practitioners' demonstrated the beautiful exercises to lovely music. Many visitors stopped to learn a few of the movements.
Some took information about where and when practitioners in the area got together to do the exercises on a regular basis and planned to continue the practice. A lady who learned about Falun Gong at the festival joined the group in Fiztroy Gardens the next day.
Those who learned about the China's state-sanctioned harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit strongly supported practitioners filing lawsuits against Jiang.
