(Minghui.org) Under the directive of the former provincial Party secretary, police officers in Hebei Province intensified their persecution of practitioners this year.

Since the filing of lawsuits against Jiang Zemin started in May, authorities in Handan City made detailed plans to retaliate against practitioners who are suing Jiang. Handan practitioners took this opportunity to tell the police about Falun Gong and why Jiang must be brought to justice.

More officers are now protecting practitioners within their abilities, while others are supporting practitioners in different ways after learning the actual situation regarding Falun Gong. Below are two examples.

Police Station Chief Tells Practitioner to Pay Attention to Safety

A few days ago, two practitioners were reported on and taken to a police station.

The police chief, who already knew about the facts about Falun Gong, used the excuse that the practitioners did not belong to his jurisdiction to release them--but not before telling them to pay attention to their safety in the future.

Community Director and Supreme Procuratorate Employees Support Practitioners

Under pressure from the police department, a community director in my area often harassed practitioners and their family members. When lawsuits against Jiang started being mailed, he was once again instructed to visit practitioners' homes, this time to check on who had filed and what they had written.

At every practitioner's home the director was given a warm welcome and a list of the many reasons Jiang should be brought to justice. The director finally understood what the practitioners were doing and why, and agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.

Many practitioners have called the Supreme People's Procuratorate after learning that their police department had interfered with the lawsuit they had filed against Jiang. The procuratorate employees told practitioners to report their police department to the proper authorities and even gave them the contact number.
