Additional Persecution News from China – August 20, 2014 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xuan Ximei and Five Other Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Zhucheng City 610 Office and Beizhujie Police Station arrested Ms. Xuan Ximei and five other practitioners on the morning of July 8, 2014. The officers took a large number of personal belongings. The practitioners were taken to the Jiangjiazhuang Brainwashing Center. Two days later, they were transferred to the Weifang City Prison. In late July, the police extorted 6,000 yuan from Ms. Xuan Ximei and 3,000 yuan from Ms. Xiao Zhihua before releasing them.

2. [Tianjin] Mr. Sun Manyuan Held in Police Custody

Mr. Sun Manyuan was taken into police custody by officers from the Cangzhou Police Department.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Xiaoya Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiaoya was arrested by officers from the Xita Police Station on July 17, 2014.

4. [Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuzhi Detained

Ms. Li Yuzhi is being held in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Guizhi and Ms. Zhang Yulian Detained

Ms. Xu Guizhi and Ms. Zhang Yulian were arrested by officers from the domestic security division on August 17, 2014, and held for 15 days.

6. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Zhijun Harassed; Mr. Tang Guidong Detained

Cao Wenliang and other officers from the Liuhezi Town Police Station broke into Mr. Zhang Zhijun's home in Hongqi Township on the afternoon of July 14, 2014. They ransacked it and took his car. Mr. Zhang and his wife were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution.

Zhang Qicheng, a domestic security division head, and Lei Qiang from the Liuhezi Town Police Station broke into Mr. Tang Guidong's home on June 14, 2014. They took two printers, a computer, and Falun Dafa books. Mr. Tang is being held in the Liaoning City Detention Center.

7. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Shuhua Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Shuhua remains in custody at the Liujiayao Brainwashing Center.

8. [Lulong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Kai Beaten at Police Station

Mr. Li Kai from Heye Village and three others were riding an electric tricycle on the morning of August 14, 2014. There was a banner with “Falun Dafa Is Good” hanging on the tricycle. Officers from the Chenguantun Police Station tried to stop Mr. Li. The tricycle fell into a roadside ditch, and one passenger's arm was broken. The officers took Mr. Li and three others to the police station. Mr. Li was severely beaten before being released with the others at noon.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Lihua Held in Brainwashing Center

The police broke into Ms. Yang Lihua's home in the Qiaokou District on August 18, 2014. They took Falun Dafa books and materials and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong. The officers carried Ms. Yang, in her 60s, from the fifth floor to the police vehicle and took her to Xinetouwan Brainwashing Center. Ms. Yang has since been released.

10. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Elderly Ms. Qu Lijuan and Ms. Xing Lihui Arrested

Ms. Qu Lijuan and Ms. Xing Lihui, both in their 70s, were arrested and taken to the Gongyelu Police Station for interrogation by undercover police officers on the afternoon of July 16, 2014. Ms. Xing was sent home around 7 p.m. that evening. The police searched Ms. Qu's home. She was taken to the Zhengzhou Detention Center. She was later sent home after developing high blood pressure.

11. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Bao Ying and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Bao Ying and Ms. Gui Hua were arrested in Donga County for telling people the facts about Falun Gong on August 17, 2014. They are being held at the Donga County Police Department.

Ms. Li Yuqin and Ms. Li Yufang were arrested for telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong on the morning of August 19, 2014. They were taken to the Liaocheng Detention Center that afternoon.

12. [Qingyun County, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Jundang Taken to Brainwashing Center

The police broke into Mr. Yu Jundong's home and arrested him at noon on July 23, 2014. He was taken to the Dezhou Brainwashing Center 15 days later.

13. [Boxing County, Shandong Province] Mr. Dai Dongwu and Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Dai Dongwu, his wife Ms. Li Zhujun, and Ms. Zhang Yuzhen were arrested in late June by officers from the Huantai County 610 Office. Ms. Li was released on June 28, 2014. Mr. Dai and Ms Zhang remain in police custody.

Mr. Wang Wuyi and Mr. Wang Boqing from Xianggongtang Village went to Mr. Dai Dongwu's home on June 28, 2014. They were arrested, and their homes were ransacked. They were held in the Boxing County Detention Center for a month. After each of their families paid a 20,000-yuan "fine," they were released on July 27, 2014. Mr. Wang Boqing, who had been severally beaten, had open cuts on his face and needed many stitches at a hospital.

Ms. Hou Shouyu is being held in the Linqing City Detention Center.

15. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yun Fuqi Arrested

Mr. Yun Fuqi was arrested at Sandaogang Town Post Office for mailing a copy of Zhuan Falun.He was taken to the Sandaogang Police Station before being transferred to Yilan County.
