A True Moral Upright Judge

(Minghui.org) Being a judge, it is common in this morally-degenerate mundane society that the litigant pays for the judge's expenses incurred on a business trip if the court doesn't. I always let the parties pay for cheap meals. I thought that I was one of the few good persons among those working in politics and the law system.

I began practicing Falun Gong in August 1996, and I then realized that viewed from the Dafa principles, I had measured myself with the declined moral standards.

Master said:

“At the beginning, this person was very good. When she cured illnesses for other people, they would give her money or some gifts—all of which she might turn down or refuse to accept. Yet this person could not resist contamination from the big dye vat of everyday people. Because these reverse cultivation people had never gone through genuine xinxing cultivation, it was very difficult for them to conduct their xinxing well. Gradually, this person would accept small gifts. Later, she would also accept big gifts. In the end, she would even be offended when the gifts were few. Finally, she would say, "Why do you give me so many things? Give me money!" She would not be pleased if given too little money.” (Zhuan Falun)

When comparing my actions to the Fa principles, I was not a person of integrity at all because I had someone pay for my meals, no matter what the excuse. A truly good person should be like a pure lotus with its roots in silt and not stained by mud.

Master said: “The pure lotus is born from the Fa.” (“Fragrant Lotus” in “Hong Yin”)

I understood that the above mentioned level can only be reached after one's morals have improved and their xinxing is uplifted.

It is very hard for an ordinary person to become a truly good person in this morally declined society. Only Falun Gong is a pure land.

Becoming a Morally Good Person

Understanding the Fa principles enables me to conduct myself in accordance with the Dafa standards. I want to be as clean as a pure lotus in handling cases.

I went out to investigate a case one day and was done around noon. When the litigant invited me for lunch, I told this person: “I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I don't take advantage of others. I'll have lunch at home.” Knowing that all practitioners are good people and that I was honest, he admired my integrity and gave me a ride home.

On another occasion, a litigant wanted to give me 2,000 yuan as an appreciation gift for my service. After I declined the offer, he went to my daughter. She told him: “No person likes to pay for dinners or send gifts in order to get their affairs done. Isn't it a good thing that my mother does not accept a gift?” This person was moved and speechless.

Someone from out of town visited our courthouse and asked for help in the afternoon of the Dragon Festival Day. He and a colleague came to collect arrears from an enterprise. They failed to find the debtor and had used all the money they had. They needed 500 yuan to pay the hotel bill and for a bus ticket.

As Master taught us, I felt that I should help this person in need. I thus gave them 500 yuan out of my monthly pay, despite only earning just over six hundred yuan a month. This person wanted to thank me. I told him to thank Master. I said: “I am a practitioner. Master Li Hongzhi (the founder of Falun Gong) has taught us to be compassionate to others. I follow his teachings.”

I was reassigned to another department in early 1998. At the end of that year, my former working unit sent me my portion of the yearly fund. I declined to accept, saying that I was a Falun Gong practitioner and that I followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. My previous colleagues said: “Only Falun Gong practitioners can be truly good and moral.”

This Is the Only One Not accepting Bribery

I was persecuted and detained in a local detention center after the Chinese Communist Party launched its persecution against Falun Gong on July 20,1999.

The guard told me: “Someone wanted to visit you. But he was stopped by the center director. This person indicated you had handled his case three years ago. He said: 'This Falun Gong practitioner was the only one among 100 staff, who couldn't be bribed.' Before he left, this person said that the detention center should not detain such a good person like you.”

Citizens know who is truly a good person with high morals, and they spread the word!
