Ms. Cai Yufang Arrested for the Sixth Time, Whereabouts Unknown
(Minghui.org) When Shanghai police arrested Ms. Cai Yufang for the sixth time, they beat her and broke her arm on the way to the detention center. Ms. Cai's present whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Cai is a senior citizen from Shanghai. She, her son, and her sister were on a trip out of town around May 10, 2014, when officers from the Tianping Road Police Station arrested her at the Shanghai Railroad Station without a warrant.
Arrested and Sentenced Six Times
This was Ms. Cai's sixth arrest for practicing Falun Dafa since the persecution started on July 20, 1999.
She was first arrested when she appealed for the right to practice Falun Dafa in Beijing in October 2000. She was sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor and send Qingpu Forced Labor Camp in Shanghai.
Guards cuffed her hands behind her back and hung her from a window bar. Her arms turned purple within minutes.
To humiliate her and pressure her to “transform,” the guards cuffed her arms around a toilet and had inmates line up to view her.
When they failed to “transform” her, they threatened her, forced her husband to divorce her, would not let her see her dying mother, and refused to allow her son to visit her.
After she was released, she lived in rented rooms and had to move frequently, because the police would order her landlords to terminate her lease.
The Xuhui District police arrested her in March 2004 and held her in a brainwashing center.
She was arrested during the Shanghai World Expo in March 25, 2010, and taken to the Xuhui Detention Center. She was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor for carrying a talisman that said “Falun Dafa is good.”
The police took her to a force labor camp several times, but she was denied admittance as a result of developing heart disease and high blood pressure in the detention center.
She insisted that she was innocent and refused to take any medicine: “I was in good health. It is your abuse that costs me my health.”
Guards put unknown drugs into her meals on the sly. She found out and went on a hunger strike. The guards then force fed her, injuring her.
Because the labor camp wouldn't accept her, the police transferred her to a brainwashing center.
In the brainwashing center she was forced to watch videos defaming Falun Dafa daily. She shouted “Falun Dafa is good” as long as the video was on until she was released.
Pension and Travel Abroad Denied
She applied for a passport to visit her daughter who studied in the United States, but her application was repeatedly denied. The person in charge of her neighborhood committee said, “You are not allowed to go abroad because you practice Falun Dafa.”
Her pension application was also denied. The person in charge told her, “We will not give you your pension because you practice Falun Dafa.”
