(Minghui.org) Mr. Xu Dongping died at the age of 53 as a result of being severely tortured for three years in Siping City Prison. He was emaciated and unable to walk at the time of his death on January 17, 2014.
Mr. Xu worked at the Dongfeng County Environment Protection Bureau in Jilin Province. Fu Yumin, director of Shahe Town Police Station, and other officers arrested him when he went to Xinhua Village, Nadanbo Town, to distribute truth-clarification materials on May 28, 2009.
He was held in the Dongfeng County Detention Center and sentenced to three and a half years in prison on September 8, 2009. His prison term started in Siping City Prison (also known as Shilingzi Prison) on October 13, 2009.
Because Mr. Xu was steadfast in his practice of Falun Dafa, he was brutally tortured in prison. He developed bone cancer and had a persistent high fever. He lost consciousness and died on the morning of January 17.
Siping City Prison established an "education" ward in 2005. Falun Gong practitioners are brutally tortured in this ward. They are locked in small cells, beaten with electric batons, verbally abused, their prison terms are extended, and they are forced to do slave labor.
