(Minghui.org) A recent chat on WeChat, a popular group chatting app, covered the topic of involuntary membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). People who do not choose to join the CCP still become members as a result of decisions of CCP organizations in business enterprises and schools.
Chatters pointed out that the title of “CCP member” has become a derogatory term. Chinese even incorporate “CCP member” into curses and slang expressions. For example, “You're a CCP member” means that a person is a corrupt liar. “Your whole family are CCP members!” curses the entire family as bad people and implies that they face negative consequences.
As more people have become aware of the bad deeds the communist party has committed against Chinese citizens, similar discussions are often seen in WeChat, QQ and other social networks. The topics cover broad areas, from bribery, sex scandals, to the lack of political transparency. Few people still have positive opinions about the CCP.
Along with this trend, more historical records of the party’s dark history have also been exposed, and either posted on blogs or circulated within social networks. Such previously covered-up facts include the CCP’s role during the Sino-Japanese War in the 1930s, the confiscation of wealth from the rich in the 1950s, the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s, the brutal suppression of the democracy movement in 1989, and the persecution of Falun Gong.
Such awareness has come about partly due to Falun Gong practitioners' truth-clarification activities. Since the party was established in the 1920s, its history has been filled with fierce internal power struggles. Claiming it represented the poor, the CCP gained the trust of workers in the cities and peasants in the countryside.
By seizing wealth from landowners and capitalists, it completely transformed society and controlled virtually all assets in the nation, from industry to land. Traditional Chinese culture, along with key values cherished and sustained during thousands years of Chinese history, was meanwhile ripped apart and replaced by communist ideology instilled in people’s minds.
The brutality and deception did not end after the CCP took power. Instead, it became a mighty tool to punish dissidents, secure its power, and intimidate anyone who might hold different opinions.
Recent CCP policies have led the public to pursue material wealth and neglect other social issues. This comes with a price: excessive exploitation of resources and serious environmental consequences. Furthermore, depleting traditional values from society—as described in core communist theories—has pushed corruption, human rights violations, and moral degeneration to a new level. For example, countless numbers of counterfeit medicine and poisonous foods are produced to maximize profit, despite their harmful effects.
Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party, published in 2004, revealed the truth about the communist party. By exposing the lies and brutality of the party, it woke up Chinese people and shed light on a path to a bright future for China.
The CCP tries to misguide the public and the world to worry about China's stability in its absence. Such a concern is not valid because traditional Chinese values will be able to carry China and the Chinese people forward, just as it did in the 5,000 years prior to communist rule.
More than 160 million people have renounced their membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations. It is expected that more Chinese will join that movement now that “CCP member” has become a derogatory title.
