(Minghui.org) The wardens at Gansu Provincial Women's Prison have been starving practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiaoming for a long time. They refuse to let her eat because she has “diabetes.” Ms. Zhang is now emaciated, extremely hungry, and feels light-headed.

According to a June 2013 article on the Minghui website, Ms. Zhang was arrested and sent to Gansu Provincial Women's Prison. Details of her arrest are still under investigation.

The criminal inmates assigned to monitor her also don't allow her to eat and torture her if she does. Ms. Zhang once ate a few peas, so inmate Yang Jing pushed her head into a nightstand drawer for several hours. Another time, several inmates beat Ms. Zhang after she picked up food from the trash bin.

Due to long-term abuse in the prison, Ms. Zhang is now skin and bones, she feels light-headed, and shakes when she walks. She has also lost the ability to urinate or defecate. The wardens and some inmates still beat her or force her to stand for long periods of time.

Arrested for Putting Up Truth-clarification Poster

Ms. Zhang went to visit a relative in Baiyun Village in Shilipu Township on September 20, 2009. Zhang Jianming, an official of Baiyun Village Chinese Communist Party Committee, saw her putting up a poster with information about Falun Gong and the persecution, so he took her to his office. Zhang and another village official, Yang Gao, illegally searched Ms. Zhang's handbag, and demanded that she tell them where she got the poster.

Zhang then called the county police department several times before the police from the Domestic Security Division eventually arrived and arrested Ms. Zhang.

At the security division, the police tried to extract a confession using torture. Officer Zhang Xiaofeng stomped on Ms. Zhang's feet and punched her in the forehead. They forced her to reveal her name and address.

The police then went to Ms. Zhang's home and ransacked it. They also searched her and confiscated 110 yuan in cash.

Ms. Zhang was sent to Gansu Detention Center and held for 28 days.

From Sickness to Good Health

Ms. Zhang is from Daxiangshan Town in Gangu County. She was in a motorcycle accident in 1995 and injured both of her knees. Afterward, she had pain in her legs and wasn't able to walk properly for over 10 years. She was also diagnosed with an abscess that couldn't be removed with surgery.

A year after her diagnosis, Ms. Zhang had sores all over her body that oozed pus, and she contracted psoriasis. She had to shave off all of her hair. Her life was so miserable. Both her husband and son began preparing for her anticipated death.

Ms. Zhang came across Falun Gong by chance and began to practice it in July 2004. After that, she strictly lived by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Three years later, all of her illnesses disappeared and she regained her health, the amazement of those around her.
