Seven Practitioners Arrested in Kangping County in a Single Day

(Minghui.org) Seven Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested and detained on December 30, 2013, in Kangping County, Shenyang City. Seven other practitioners were subjected to different levels of harassment.

Domestic Security Division agents of the Shenyang City and Kangping County Police Departments led the arrests. A dozen officers from the Zhennan Police Station, Shengly Police Station, Dongguan Police Station, Xiaochengzi Police Station, Erniu Police Station, and Wolonghu Police Station also participated in the arrests and harassment of practitioners.

Ms. Zhang Xiuli, Ms. Qi Xiangru, Ms. Xing Shuxia, and Ms. Wang Huijuan were arrested and taken to the Zaohua Detention Center in Shenyang City.

Mr. Xiu Zhandong, Mr. Xue Tao, and Mr. Zhang Yin were taken to the Kangping Detention Center.

Families Persecuted

Mr. Xiu and his wife, Ms. Zhang, were arrested at home by several officers from the Erniu Police Station on the morning of December 30, 2013. Ms. Qi, who worked at Ms. Zhang’s cell phone store, was also arrested that day.

Mr. Xue and his wife, Ms. Xing, were arrested at home by Meng Qingdong, director of the Zhennan Police Station, as well as Hu Xiangguo and other officers, the same morning. Police confiscated Mr. Xue’s four computers, which he used for work. The couple's two children were left home alone.

Additional Arrests

Officers from the Wolonghu Police Station went to the Pengcheng Hotel at 6 a.m. on December 30, 2013, to arrest Ms. Ai Yanjing. They demanded that the room be opened for an inspection.

Seeing that Ms. Ai was not in that room, the officers proceeded to arrest hotel’s owner and Ms. Ai’s husband. They demanded that he take them to the couple's home. However, Ms. Ai was also not there. The officers confiscated a printer, two computers, four or five cell phones, a tablet computer, and 3,000 yuan in cash.

Officers from the Shengli Police Station, including director Zhou Zhi, came to Ms. He Shaoyan’s home the same day. Their plan to arrest her folded when they realized that she was not home. They confiscated her cell phone and approximately 5,000 yuan in cash.

Also on December 30, four officers from the Xiaochengzi Police Station broke into Ms. Li Xueping's home and attempted to arrest her. They confiscated several Falun Gong books, DVDs, and a cell phone. Ms. Li escaped arrest.

The same officers also harassed several other practitioners that day.
