(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Dianzhu, 69, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dongfeng County, Jilin Province. She was reported and illegally arrested by the police when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on May 21, 2013. She has been detained in the Liaoyuan Detention Center, with no family visits allowed. It is rumored that she has been secretly sentenced to a five-year prison term.
During the past eight months, her family has not been given any information regarding her arrest and detention. Her family went to see the local legal and judiciary departments to inquire about her situation, but none of these departments would admit that they had any jurisdiction in the case.
If no one is in charge of her case, why is she still being detained?
Officers from the Dongfeng County Police Department arrested Ms. Liu, an elderly lady who did not break any laws, and detained her without due process. Why did the court sentence her to prison but refuse to admit the existence of her case to her family? How could the court sentence her to prison if the case was never accepted?
The family has not been allowed to see her since she was arrested. They do not know if she is still alive or if she has been tortured. All those involved in persecuting her, including the Dongfeng County Police Department, the person who reported her to the police, the procuratorate, the court, and the 610 Office, must accept responsibility.
It is rumored that she was sentenced to a five-year prison term. However, her family has never received any notification to that effect.
