Additional Persecution News from China – April 30, 2013 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 16 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiangyou, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Several Falun Gong practitioners from Jiangyou were sentenced to imprisonment on July 5, 2011. Ms. Wu Qihui, Ms. Yin Juhua and Ms. He Deli were sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Zhang Zhiying and Ms. Li Fuqun were sentenced to four years in prison.

Ms. Guo Quanzhen, 80, was sentenced to four years of imprisonment, but allowed to serve the sentence outside of prison. Her husband, Mr. Ran Hengbing, was persecuted to death by the Jiangyou Domestic Security Division in 2007. Her son, Mr. Ran Tongyi ,was arrested in 2007 and is serving a seven-year sentence in prison.

2. [Xiangtang, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Jianru Detained

Ms. Li Jianru was arrested by officers from the Baotalu Police Station on April 28, 2013. She was sent to the Jintangwan Detention Center that afternoon to serve a 10-day term.

3. [Qianwei County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Tongyu Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Hu Tongyu was taken from her home to the Dashiqiao Brainwashing Center in Leshan, Sichuan Province, by police on the afternoon of April 24, 2013.

4. [Hebei Province] Provincial Women's Prison Steps Up Persecution

Recently, the Hebei Province Women's Prison aggravated the mistreatment of Ms. Liu Xiumin from Handan, Ms. Liu Liping from Xingtai, and Ms. Li Shanshan from Tangshan. The there practitioners were deprived of sleep for a prolonged period of time.

5. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xie Jianping and Mr. Zhou Shuguang Detained

Mr. Xie Jianping and Mr. Zhou Shuguang were arrested on the morning of April 28, 2013, by officers from the Hongshan Police Station because they distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. Both practitioners are being held in the Jiangping Detention Center.

6. [Harbin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Lijun Arrested

Ms. Wu Lijun was arrested on April 20, 2013. Her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Qufu, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Li Zhi Forced to Become Homeless

Ms. Meng Lizhi from Fangshan Township, Qufu, was arrested by Li Ming and other officers from the Qufu Police Department on April 27, 2013. The police searched her home and took away Falun Gong brochures, computer and printer, CDs, and other property. Ms. Meng managed to escape, but has had to remain homeless to avoid being arrested again.

8. [Beipiao, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cheng Xiangqin Detained

Xu Ruifeng and other policemen from the Jiangjiawopu Township Police Station in Beiqiao broke into Ms. Cheng Xiangqin's home and ransacked it on April 27, 2013. Ms. Cheng was taken to the Beipiao Detention Center.

9. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Three practitioners Awaiting Trial

The Datong District Procuratorate filed cases against Ms. Hu Baiyuan, Ms. Xiao Binhua and Ms. Sun Yumei on April 25, 2013. The three practitioners are being detained in the Daqing Detention Center.
