Additional Persecution News from China – December 13, 2013 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents about persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Beijing] Information on the Persecution of Ms. Li Shulan

Ms. Li Shulan from Tulou Village in the Changping District of Bejing was held in the Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp in Beijing for two years. After her release in 2007, she called the labor camp and stated, “I'm declaring invalid all I wrote in the camp that defamed Falun Gong and it's founder Master Li Hongzhi.” Guards then took her to the camp again. They held her down and force-fed her with pills that damaged her nerves.

She became mentally disordered soon after returning home. She couldn't take care of her day to day needs. She didn't know when she should eat, and she soiled her pants.

2. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Guorong Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Zhang Guorong was arrested by Yuan Guoping from the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of November 27, 2013, for handing out Minghui 2014 calendars that have information about Falun Gong. The police confiscated her motor bike and extorted 3,000 yuan in cash from her son. Her home was ransacked and police confiscated her laptop, DVD burner, Falun Gong books, and photos of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Ms. Zhang was released on the afternoon of November 28, 2013. Police threatened to summon her again at any time. Ms. Zhang has had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

3. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Hanxiang Arrested

Ms. Wu Hanxiang was arrested soon after she left home by members of the Domestic Security Division who were waiting for her in the janitor's room on the morning of November 8, 2013. She was taken to Xianning City Brainwashing Center.

4. [Lincang City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Quan Held in Detention Center

Mr. Li Quan is currently being held in the Fengqing County Detention Center in Lincang City.

5. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yan Guangling Arrested

Ms. Yan Guangling from Xinbin County was arrested when she was selling goods at her stand in a farmer's market on the afternoon of December 10, 2013. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated and she was taken to the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.

6. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jiang Zhihui Arrested

Ms. Jiang Zhihui was arrested by officers from the Xinbin County Police Station on the afternoon of December 7, 2013. She was taken to the Nangou Detention Center.

7. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Qiguo Arrested

Mr. Li Qiguo from Liyuner Village in Meichuan Town, Wuxue City, was arrested by officers from the Hubei Provincial Police Department, the Wuxue Police Department, and Meichuan Town Police Station on the afternoon of December 10, 2013. He was sent to the Hubei Provincial Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City.

8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yang Lingfu Transferred to Detention Center

Mr. Yang Lingfu was transferred from the Ankang Hospital to the Hanyang District Detention Center in Wuhan City on December 11, 2013.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hou Yaxi Arrested

Ms. Hou Yaxi from Qiqihar City was arrested at the Daqing Train Station when she was going to Daqing City for work on December 09, 2013. She was sent back to Qiqihar City.

10. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Qin Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Qin Xiaoping was arrested by officers from the Xiangshan District Domestic Security Division on the evening of December 11, 2013. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xu Yan Arrested

Several officers barged into Ms. Yu Yan's home and arrested her on the afternoon of December 7, 2013. Officers confiscated her printer, computer, and other personal belongings.

12. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Meiping Arrested

Ms. Li Meiping was arrested and taken to the county police station for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong near Tieluqiao in Mei County on the morning of December 11, 2013. She is being held in the Fuda Detention Center in Mei County.

13. [Liaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Zengchen Held in Detention Center

Mr. Xu Zengchen was arrested by officers from the Longchang Town Police Station for informing people about the persecution of Falun Gong in a market on December 8, 2013. He is being held in the Shoushan Detention Center in Liaoyang County.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pan Fengchun Arrested

Ms. Pan Fengchun was recently arrested and taken to the Xian Square Police Station in Changchun City.

15. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zeng Fenglian Arrested

Erdaowan Town 610 Office director Liu Jianlong and officers from the county police department and the Erdaowan Town Police Station arrested Ms. Zeng Fenglian on the morning of December 12, 2013. Ms. Zeng is being held in the police station.

16. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhao Benyong Sentenced to Four and a Half Years in Prison

Mr. Zhao Benyong, a teacher at the Chengdu City Astronautics Technician School, was arrested by officers from the Bazhou District 610 Office when he was on his way to visit his family in Jinshan Township, Bazhou District, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, on March 20, 2013. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison on August 1, 2013.
