Additional Persecution News from China – November 30, 2013 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 7 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shen Hongfen Arrested

Ms. Shen Hongfen was arrested by officers on November 12, 2013.

2. [Jinzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Zhenhui's Whereabouts Unknown

After having been detained and cruelly tortured in the Jinzhou City Detention Center for six months, Mr. Yang Zhenhui escaped from the detention center on November 25, 2013. His whereabouts are unknown. Officers from the Police Department, Domestic Security Division and local police stations of all towns and counties went to his home to harass his family and posted a wanted notice. Anyone who reports his whereabouts will be rewarded with 50 to 100 thousand yuan.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yan Jingyou and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Yan Jingyou and his wife were arrested at home by officers from the Kuancheng District Police Station on the morning of November 29, 2013. Officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, materials, and cash.

4. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Zhang Wanchun Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Wanchun was arrested by officers from the 610 Office on November 28, 2013. He was taken to a brainwashing center.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Meng Xiuhua Severely Abused

Ms. Meng Xiuhua, in her 50s, was sentenced to a three and a half year prison term because she talked to people about Falun Gong and the persecution. She was imprisoned and severely tortured in Beijing Women's Prison.

Due to prolonged torture, she has become very weak. She has difficulty expressing herself. In addition, the prison forbids family visits for one year and did not approve a medical parole for her.

6. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gong Shulian Arrested

Ms. Gong Shulian was arrested on the evening of November 27, 2013.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Bojuan Severely Tortured

Ms. Hu Bojuan was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the Datong District Court. She was taken to the Ninth Ward at the Heilongjiang Women's Prison on August 7, 2013. She was forced to squat, to sit on a small bench only 20 centimeters high for long periods of time, and was beaten by inmates. She was not allowed to sleep from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Due to severe torture she has health problems including hypertension.

8. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhongli Detained

Ms. Zhongli was arrested by officers from the local police station on November 11, 2013. She is being held at the Dongguan Niugang Detention Center.

9. [Tianjin] Mr. Ma Jian Sentenced to a Six-Year Prison Term

It was rumored that Mr. Ma Jian was recently sentenced to a six-year prison term by the Hebei District Court. He is being held at the Tianjin Yangliuqing Prison.

10. [Zhongning County, Ningxia Province] Mr. Ding Fadong and Mr. You Haijun Tortured

Mr. Ding Fadong and Mr. You Haijun were arrested by officers from the Zhongwei City Police Department and Zhongning County Police Department on September 25, 2013. They are being held at Zhongning County Detention Center. Guards ordered inmates to beat Mr. Ding. Mr. You went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

Ms. Fan Wenfang was arrested by officers at noon on November 24, 2013, because she was discovered with information about Falun Gong and the persecution. She is being held at the Yingzhou District Domestic Security Division.

12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Detained

Ms. Wang Yanhua was arrested and detained by officers on November 27, 2013.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cong Shuxun Detained

Mr. Cong Shuxun was recently arrested by officers from the Zhongnanlu Police Station. He is being held at the Dalian City Detention Center.

14. [Bengbu City, Anhui Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Liang Huaiyuan was arrested on the afternoon of November 11, 2013. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Yanan Police Station.

Ms. Liang Yu, who was attending to her father in a hospital, was also arrested. She was taken to the Huainan City Detention Center and has not been released.

15. [Shanghai] Ms. Huang Qiaoqin Detained

Ms. Huang Qiaoqin was arrested on November 25, 2013, for distributing information about Falun Gong and the persecution. She is being held at the Xuhui District Detention Center.

16. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Le and Ms. Duan Hongxia Detained

Mr. Yang Le and his wife Ms. Duan Hongxia were recently arrested. They are now being held at the Beijing Detention Center.
