(Minghui.org) Six Falun Gong practitioners from Linli County, Hunan Province, were illegally arrested and incarcerated in a local detention center for over a year. They are: Mr. Fu Jianping, 51; Ms. Zhang Jinwen, 60, retired teacher; Ms. Qi Kaixiang, 67, retired teacher; Ms. He Huazhen, 47; Ms. Jin Xinchun, 60; and Ms. Xu Fenfang, 52. At the end of September 2013, a court secretly sentenced the practitioners to prison terms without notifying their families. Mr. Fu received 8 years, Ms. Zhang 8 years, Ms. Qi 6 years, Ms. He 6 years, Ms. Jin 5 years, and Ms. Xu 3 years.
On the morning of June 15, 2012, acting on orders from Changde City 610 Office and Linli County 610 Office, Gao Shihua, Liu Changcai, Liu Hongmo, and Yang Feng from the Police Department and Domestic Security of Linli County arrested over 30 Falun Gong practitioners.
The officers searched the practitioners' homes and confiscated their personal belongings including computers, printers, paintings, and cell phones. Ms. Wang Huaying refused to open the door. Two days later the police came back with a master key, opened her door, and arrested her. Mr. Fu, Ms. Qi, Ms. Zhang, Ms. Jin, Ms. Xu, Ms. Wang, Yang Mingfeng, Hu Yueying, Sheng Rennian, Zhou Ermei, and a practitioner surnamed Zhao (first name unknown) were taken to detention centers for interrogation.
Mr. Fu used to work at the Linli County Industrial and Commercial Bank. He had to leave work because of liver problems. He regained his health in 1998 after he learned Falun Dafa and was able to return to work. After the persecution started in 1999, officer Yang Feng of the Linli County Domestic Security arrested him five times. He was held in forced labor camps, prisons, and brainwashing centers for a total of five years.
During his detention, Mr. Fu was force-fed, injected with unknown drugs, beaten, hung up by handcuffs, deprived of sleep, and shocked with electric batons. In 2003, the bank did not want to get in trouble with the authorities and fired Mr. Fu. When he was in Wangling Prison in You County, Mr. Fu maintained his innocence and refused to be brainwashed. Guards Tan Dongming, Yan Fan, and Zhang (first name unknown) tortured him. They used high-voltage electric batons to shock his head, face, lips, arms, back, shoulders, and fingertips. His skin burned and turned dark, with egg-sized blisters. The guards continued shocking him until the batons ran out of power.

Ms. Qi Kaixiang and her family became healthy shortly after practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. Her crooked arms and swollen joints caused by arthritis were healed. Her husband's digestive problem went away. Her daughter's heart problems were eased. After the persecution began, on April 14, 2000, Ms. Qi went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. Officer Yang Feng arrested her in Beijing and put her in a detention center for a month. Yang extorted 4,000 yuan from Ms. Qi. In January 2001, Yang Feng detained Ms. Qi in the Changde Drug Rehabilitation Center, actually a brainwashing center. The Linli County 610 Office transferred her to the County Detention Center and incarcerated her there for two years and eight months.
Officers from the Linli County 610 Office often went to Ms. Qi's home and harassed her husband and daughter. On December 20, 2005, Yang Feng broke into their home and arrested her husband, Mr. Li Zhengbo. Mr. Li was incarcerated for a month and fined 10,000 yuan. No paperwork or receipts recorded this. Her daughter, Ms. Qi Hua, was terrified and stopped practicing Falun Dafa to avoid further persecution. Her heart problems recurred and she died on April 27, 2007.
Ms. Jin Xinchun used to work at the County Bureau of Radio and Television. Because of her belief, the authorities incarcerated Ms. Jin five times and sentenced her to prison terms three times. She was in prison for a total of eight years. On November 4, 1999, she was arrested at home and locked up for a month. Yang Feng extorted 8,000 yuan from her. She was sentenced to three years when she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. On May 9, 2004, Yang Feng put Ms. Jin in Jinshi City Detention Center for three and half years.
In the past 14 years of persecution, at least 29 Falun Gong practitioners in Linli County were arrested, had funds extorted from them, had their belongings confiscated, were subjected to brainwashing, were given unlawful sentences, and were sent to forced labor camps and prisons. One of them died of torture.
