(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Song Yan finished a nine-year prison term on September 26, 2013. His wife, Ms. Li Xiuqin; his wife's sister, Ms. Li Rongqin; and his 10-year-old son went to the Mudanjiang Prison to pick him up. They were arrested and their whereabouts are unknown.
The three of them were waiting by the prison gate. One police officer and two plainclothes officers came up to them and took out a cellphone to take pictures of them. Ms. Li tried to stop them and reason with them. The officers pushed them into a car instead.
The whereabouts of Ms. Li, her sister, Mr. Song Yan, and the son are unknown.
It is very likely that the arrests were carried out by Zhang Liqun, head of the Dong'an District 610 Office, and his subordinates.
Mr. Song was arrested when he went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in early September 1999. He was sentenced to forced labor and was incarcerated in the labor camp for three years and one month. He was taken to a brainwashing center directly after that.
Mr. Song was again arrested on November 27, 2004, by officers from the Mudanjiang City Police Department. His father went to the detention center to give him a change of clothes and asked to see him. The guard not only refused his request, but also humiliated him. The elderly man was worried and depressed and had a heart attack. He passed away on March 20, 2005.
