Brother and Sister Detained in Chongqing

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Peng Shibi, from Chongqing, was sentenced to three years of forced labor two months ago. Additionally, her younger brother was arrested at home on September 6, 2013, and is currently held at a local detention center.

Ms. Peng, 62, was a kindergarten teacher. She was reported when she spoke to people about Falun Gong in Geleshan Town, Shapingba District on January 26, 2013. She was arrested and taken to the Geleshan Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She was later transferred to the Baiheling Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor on July 17. Ms. Peng has appealed to a higher court. According to informed sources, she will be transferred to the Baishiyi Prison in Jiulongpo District.

Ms. Peng Shibi's brother, Mr. Peng Shigui, 49, was an employee of the Chongqing Casting Machinery Factory. He lost his job when the factory went out of business.

More than a dozen officers from the Shapingba District Police Department and the Jingkou Police Station broke into his home in Jingkou Town, Shapingba District, on September 6, 2013. The police ransacked the place and arrested Mr. Peng. Mr. Peng is currently held at the Baiheling Detention Center.

Their mother has mental illness and needs to be taken care of. She cries and calls her son's name daily.
