Ms. Li Jiaju

Ms. Li lived in Huangni Township, Yongxing County. Since she began to practice Falun Gong in July 1997, many of the persistent illnesses that she used to suffer from disappeared without treatment and her bad temper also disappeared.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), under the leadership of Jiang Zemin, launched the persecution against Falun Gong and utilized the most evil and cruel methods of all times, from ancient to modern, both Chinese and foreign. Like thousands of Falun Gong practitioners, Ms. Li remained committed to telling people the truth about Falun Gong. She clarified the truth to the officials of the Yongxing County Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, the police department, 610 Office and asked them not to believe the CCP's lies, to treat Falun Gong practitioners kindly, and to be responsible for their own futures.

On December 14, 2000 of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the Huangni Township government mustered more than 30 people and broke into Ms. Li's home. They illegally arrested Ms. Li and her husband (also a Falun Gong practitioner), confiscated Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials, and destroyed all of their furniture. They punched and kicked Ms. Li and her husband, pushed them into the car and forced them to kneel on angle iron. They were handcuffed and shackled to the bottom of the stairs of the township government building. It was very cold during the winter with strong winds and temperatures below zero degrees. Ms. Li was not released until her hands and feet were injured due to the cold weather and she had lost consciousness.

On October 21, 2002 of the Chinese lunar calendar, Ms. Li was arrested by Xu Yongjin, the head of the Yongxing County Political and Legislative Affairs Committee, at the Huangni Township market and sent to a detention center. Ms. Li's hands and feet were shackled together. She was tortured for more than six months and fined 800 yuan.

After having only been released for less than 10 days and before she even had a chance to recover physically, one night in May 2003, a group of people broke into Ms. Li's home, arrested her and sent her to the detention center. For half a year, Ms. Li resolutely resisted the persecution and went on a hunger strike. She was only released when she was near death.

In less than two months, Huangni Township government officials again arrested and detained Ms. Li in January 2004. She was sent to a forced labor camp for 16 months and then transferred to Zhuzhou Baimalong Forced Labor Camp, where she was persecuted for 10 additional months. At the forced labor camp, Ms. Li continued to recite the Fa and send forth righteous thoughts. Later, she resisted the persecution by going on a hunger strike for six months. The forced labor camp authorities dropped off the dying Ms. Li at the Zhuzhou Train Station and bought a ticket for her to go home. Ms. Li refused the train ticket that was paid for by the forced labor camp and hitchhiked home two days later.

On October 21, 2005, Ms. Li accompanied another practitioner to visit her two daughters (also Falun Gong practitioners) at the Changsha Women's Prison. Ms. Li clarified the truth and passed out truth-clarification materials to the guards in the visiting area and was detained. She was later sent to the detention center by the 610 Office agents in Yongxing County. Three months later, Ms. Li was again sent to the Zhuzhou Baimalong Forced Labor Camp for 18 months on June 1, 2006. Ms. Li remained steadfast in her belief and resisted the persecution by going on a hunger strike. The forced labor camp authorities rejected her family's request to visit her even when she was extremely weak physically. After the Minghui website exposed the cruel persecution against Falun Gong practitioners at the forced labor camp, Ms. Li was released after 12 months of resisting the persecution at the forced labor camp.

In April 2008, Ms. Li and another practitioner went to Leiyang City, Tianyi Township to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. The other practitioner gave truth-clarification materials to a plainclothes police officer and was taken to the police station. Ms. Li went to the police station, clarified the truth to the police officers and demanded that the other practitioner be released. The police officers detained Ms. Li. Two days later, Ms. Li broke free and the other practitioner was released after 10 days.

In 2009, Ms. Li invited other practitioners and went to Yongxing County, Tangmenkou Township which is a remote mountainous area, where she was reported by someone. Ms. Li was arrested, sent to a detention center, and later transferred to Zhuzhou Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. She was released after being rejected by the forced labor camp.

In March 2012, Ms. Li went to a village in Yongxing County, Liyutang Town alone. While trying to clarify the truth on the bus, Ms. Li was reported to the township government and followed. A group of people arrested her and sent her to the Township government. Three days later, Ms. Li broke free.

On April 13, 2010, more than ten officers from the 610 Office of Chenzhou City and of Yongxing County, the public security and domestic security systems, and the local police station broke into Ms. Li's home and arrested Ms. Li and her husband. They combed through their home and confiscated Dafa books. The reason for this arrest was that the 610 Office authorities suspected that Ms. Li and her husband would go to Shanghai and attend the World Exposition.

In May 2011, Ms. Li and her husband were arrested by agents from the 610 Office of Yongxing County and Huangni Township government officials. They broke into their home, arrested them, and sent them to the Chenzhou City Beihu District Party School Brainwashing Center where Ms. Li was administered an unknown IV fluid. On April 16, 2012, Ms. Li passed away.
