(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Lei from Shijiazhuang City has been held in the Shijiazhuang Men's Forced Labor Camp for more than a year, and subjected to severe physical abuse and mental torment.
Mr. Wu was arrested at work on April 24, 2009, and taken to the Sun Village Police Station. Police officer Guo Qingliang tied him to a metal chair, covered his eyes, and handcuffed him. Guo then struck the soles of Mr. Wu's feet with a metal plate, causing severe pain and swelling in his feet. Mr. Wu was also denied restroom use. After being detained there for one day, he was taken to the Nanhuochang Detention Center for two weeks before being sentenced to 18 months of forced labor.
Mr. Wu was sent to Division No. 5 in the Shijiazhuang Men's Forced Labor Camp on May 13, 2009. Guard Zhang Li pretended to be kind to Mr. Wu at first, and attempted to brainwash him with distorted theories. Seeing that he could not make Mr. Wu give up his belief, Zhang Li started employing torture in attempts to break his will and force him to renounce his belief. Guo held Mr. Wu in a separate cell and ordered criminal inmates to monitor him daily. They forced him to squat facing a wall from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. If he refused to comply, they beat him, held him down, and forced him to squat. After squatting for an hour, a person's legs hurt terribly, become numb, and the person finally loses consciousness. It feels like being stabbed with a knife. In addition, the guards mentally tormented Mr. Wu. They took turns repeating lies slandering the founder of Falun Dafa, attempting to force him to accept their evil theories and stop him from believing in Master and the Fa. The physical and mental pressure Mr. Wu was subjected to was tremendous.
